The first thing I thought when I heard this on the news was that “farfalla” (butterfly in Italian) is Italian slang for a woman’s genitals/vulva, or so my expat Brit in Italy told me years ago. Very porny new name.

I think this is going to go down badly again tbh. Passing transwomen are known as "traps" in the type of circles who I imagine still read Playboy and there's a lot of anger around the dishonesty of pretending to be female and making men question their sexuality.
