Somehow I doubt it.

Well I expect she had only listened to (or heard from) transactivists at that stage. I doubt she had thought things through, nor appreciated the avalanche of teenagers queuing up to have healthy body parts lopped off. Nor for that fact considered the equality implications.

Rudd is a political opportunist who shifts around like a weather vane depending on what direction she feels the political wind is blowing from. She came into my workplace campaigning for remain, then six months later made that infamous speech at the Conservative Party Conference proposing that firms should have to send government lists of how many EU workers they had on their payroll (real Big Brother stuff, quite chilling - she then had to do an extra-swift U turn because of the public outcry).

She has absolutely no principles of her own, simply adopts whatever she thinks will go down well with the public at the time. Extremely nasty piece of work, within a party where there's a lot of competition for that epithet.

She’s only got a majority of 100 or something – it’s quite unlikely she’ll still be around after the next election.

She's my local MP and she's not popular with the locals.

Her office is opposite where I used to work but she's barely there. She's made it abundantly clear that she looks down on the people in her constituency. She doesn't give a damn what we think. Well, she was previously married to AA Gill..

I've had to deal with the local paper for various reasons, and they're worse than useless. Most of them are part-timers who couldn't find their arse with both hands.

She is my MP, too, and I agree with your assessment.

So far I have approached her formally on two subjects solely to do with women. She opposes me on both and so won't take my case forward.

I won't even bother now to ask her about trans.
