I suspect they might be peak transed when they read their Twitter when they get back out! I hope that this, and they, highlight some of the issues with the current trans craze.

Uh oh
But this is what bothers me about the whole "all female house" thing. The producers are clearly dying for a catfight about trans people to boost their ratings. It is very cynical so I'm not watching

IndominusRex · 05/01/2018 08:32

There's a drag queen going in tonight. It will be interesting to see how this is dealt with.

PocketCoffeeEspresso · 05/01/2018 08:50

It's horrible - the whole thing - the other men they've lined up to add are all just blatantly designed to provoke a fight. I'm not watching, I'm not even reading about it. (but I do see headlines when out and about before it's pointed out that I know a surprising amount about it considering how I'm not reading about it)

terfing · 05/01/2018 08:56

Is it still a "cat fight" if it's two men fighting? Confused

QuentinSummers · 05/01/2018 09:19

I used the phrase because I bet that's exactly what was in the mind if the producers. It is misogynist obvs but so is manufacturing a spat between women over a feminist issue for public entertainment

Datun · 05/01/2018 09:50

I don't watch it either, but have read comments.

It will be interesting to see if biology prevails and they end up forming an alliance.

Or, it could go the other way with a mammoth, territorial pissing contest.

Ekphrasis · 05/01/2018 10:25

I'm watching.

They're all confusing gender and sex. So many discussions (prompted by bb) should have used the word sex.

India did talk about transsexual. I think a bit of what I struggle with when I watch is that India is the only one doing this thing of being that really ultra stereotypical woman thing. The only one being a tad 'bitchy.' A lot of showing off of shaved legs in the diary room. I'm being a huuuuuge judgy pants but it annoyed me quite a bit. Everyone else sits quite smartly in there.

To be fair India described how as a man she was never asked to make the tea at work. Then when she'd transitioned she was. And said there was subtle sexism everywhere.

joystir59 · 05/01/2018 10:30

Well erm.. it isn't an all female cast if they've got men in there is it?

joystir59 · 05/01/2018 10:31

India Wloughby is still a man.

ALunerExplorer · 05/01/2018 10:36

India Willoughby has her views, like many she thinks identities are finite, that there are only so many.

I never did understand the appeal of watching people locked into an artificial environment.

DeleteOrDecay · 05/01/2018 10:56

I really hate the 'all female house' thing. It categorically isn't. It's a house of women plus a transwoman.

BatShite · 05/01/2018 19:24

Genderfluid is a load of bollocks. As is 'non-binary' as everyone is bloody non-binary. CBB is not all female as India is male. India is today kicking off about 'misgendering'. And repeating 'I am a real woman' over and over, will be shown on tomorrows show. I watch too much BB.

EmpressOfTheSpartacusOceans · 05/01/2018 19:35

I've only watched a snippet of India mouthing off. But they really don't pass. India yelling in a ponytail & sunglasses looks and sounds male.

DeleteOrDecay · 05/01/2018 19:40

I saw a clip too and I agree. I also thought he was protesting a bit too much with the way he kept saying he was a woman.

Yeah, you keep telling yourself that. No one buys it, even those who say they do.

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 05/01/2018 19:46

India needs to keep tits in the bra thank you. Can you imagine the shit a woman would get if she dried her hair topless in CBB?

I haven't watched BBCfor years, as it was like FB, those celeb mags etc - too much of a time waster and very addictive

A bit like MN Grin

guardianfree · 06/01/2018 10:23

I'm watching and it's fascinating.
India comes over as self obsessed, patronising and with no awareness of a woman's boundaries . Ann Widdecombe obviously doesn't like being touched but India is determined to repeatedly touch her (quelle surprise). And then of course there's the relentless bullying / gaslighting of the other women. And what is most brilliant is that the audience seems to have spotted it with twitter being awash with criticism of India - the main point being that if you keep going on about your 'journey' from man to transgender woman then you shouldn't be surprised if people accidentally misgender you.

So now a CBB & a Mumsnet addict ... sigh.....

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 06/01/2018 10:46

I've just been reading the CBB thread on here, and someone pointed out that CBB must be a bit of a shock to IW after living on Twitter where misgendering is literal violence, and the worst thing you can do to anyone ever.

OP posts:
Datun · 06/01/2018 10:58

Exactly. Don't those women on CBB realise that by saying he, they are responsible for the literal genocide of trans people everywhere?

McTufty · 06/01/2018 11:06

I’m not watching, but I agree with India about gender fluid. I don’t doubt some people have gender dysphoria and I am sympathetic to them, but people who are a different gender every day I struggle with.

I understand India has had surgery and been living as a woman for years. If so, i am happy to accept her as a woman and don’t really think comments about if she is passing or sounds like a man are necessary.

UrsulaPandress · 06/01/2018 11:10

He not only sounds like a man, he behaves like one as well.

guardianfree · 06/01/2018 11:24

McTufty
Like you, I'm happy to use someone's preferred pronouns but to me, CBB is a practical example of the levels of cognitive dissonance being demanded of women in order to indulge individual men'spreferences.

India's 'maleness' is there for all to see and the lack of authenticity is quite sad. Given that so much of communication face to face is based on what we see and feel, it is evident that India is a male 'appropriating' womanhood with typical male 'hectoring ' approach - ignoring their boundaries, self absorbed, turning discussions into 'me me' and of course bullying women. I suspect the women must have to continually self check - it must be quite worrying as one incorrect word and the potential to be 'no platformed' is massive. India meanwhile will leave with self pitying tales of those terrible transphobes and literal violence Confused

EmpressOfTheSpartacusOceans · 06/01/2018 12:25

I wonder how many of the women in the house know Jenni Murray?

Datun · 06/01/2018 12:32

Listening to India on the Jenni Murray show was very revealing. His supercilious patronisation of Jenni was impressively awful.

You could tell she was biting her lip. And her article afterwards was positively restrained.

But it didn't stop India taking to social media to call her ugly, in need of a makeover, a dinosaur, and set up a petition for her to be sacked.

His narcissism eclipses everything else about him.

Mooncuplanding · 06/01/2018 12:32

I'm watching and looking forward to one of the Neanderthal men misgendering IW, how IW will react to the drag queen and how Wayne Sleep will fit into all of this

It's a melting pot of trans issues and I'm not sure the contestants know what they've been set up for

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 06/01/2018 12:39

Wane Sleep was on the Wright show a few weeks ago stating quite vehemently his objection to trans children. He thinks it's homophobic
