Please - anyone on twitter, can you retweet this and copy in Nicola Sturgeon @NicolaSturgeon

We need to get the Nationalists AND the Unionist talking about this.

The SNP MSPs seem very impressed with themselves over this.

Postmodern Pat was also out in support of the GRA on Twitter and seemed to imply that any opposition was bigotry.

It’s so frustrating - I only want them to consider the unintended consequences of this legislation.

I’m not a bigot or a terf or on a moral crusade - I’m just not convinced they have thought this through because they are all so bloody pleased with their wee progressive liberal selves. Hmm

Still playing the man, Lass? He lives in Bath, he's not really a Rev... What about yesterday's story, what's your take on that?

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 04/01/2018 21:56

@HirplesWithHaggis Maybe because we know the rev of old.

I hope he is genuine on this. I am however scepticle.

In other news, Duke Ellington wasn’t a real duke and Prince wasn’t a prince.

And neither is Stu. If you read it, you'll see that.

No-one is asking anyone to "hitch to his wagon". "His wagon" in this particular case is the erosion of womens' rights and single-sex spaces in the face of rampant transactivism.

He's on the same side as feminists. Do you really suggest that feminists should stop complaining about the GRA, stop writing to MPs, MSPs, stop campaigning for single-sex spaces... because Stu fucking Campbell lives in Bath?

Please point me to any one who has said that? stop with the hyperbole

People are scepticle of his motives.

HirplesWithHaggis · 05/01/2018 00:12

He commissioned a poll, with a reputable polling company. He reported on the results of that poll.

That's not a "wagon". It's not propaganda. Read it, don't read it, believe it or not. Carry on insulting him, I doubt he's reading, or would care much if he did.

But he does have a wide readership, and his readers are at least inclined to believe him. Those readers have friends, families, workmates. They're voters, and they're already politically motivated. They can apply pressure to the SNP Scottish Government via their MSPs to have a rethink, or even just a think, since they don't seem to have done much of that.

They can help stop this.

What possible dodgy motive could a male-identifying man in Bristol have, for wanting to influence the GRA in Scotland? That grateful Scottish radfems will throw themselves at him in gratitude?

I said earlier there is absolutely no reason whatsoever for the SNP to listen to him, since he isn't a member and doesn't/ can't vote for them.

He has a wide audience though. His recently released annual stats state that in 2017 his "average monthly unique visitors" numbered 303,719. That's a fair chunk of people, politically active people, most of whom live in Scotland and vote in Scotand, many for the SNP.

So it's his influence over them that's important. Not him.

diddlemethis · 05/01/2018 08:17

Lass, for someone who says:

"I have no intention of paying any attention to anything he has to say."

You don't half give him a lot of your head space! Do you secretly fancy him?

diddlemethis · 05/01/2018 08:21

THIS IS NOT AN INDY ISSUE.

I don't think there is anyone on MN who isn't aware that Lasswith hates the SNP and the notion of Independence with a passion. We got it. You are entitled to your opinion, that's grand, but please can we talk about the GRA?

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 05/01/2018 08:54

Do you secretly fancy him?

Are you 5?

BarrackerBarmer · 05/01/2018 10:11

My brief research on him turned up that he strives to evidence everything he says, and pulls apart false claims in the media.
His methodology seems sound.
I don't need to share political beliefs with him.
He has shot himself in the foot with some of his opinions and the manner in which he has expressed them.

But he seems credible to me and his motives seem to be a hatred of lies and propoganda and a desire to expose issues that are suppressed.
Good enough for me.

MorrisZapp · 05/01/2018 10:15

Argh, well this is awkward. Totally agree with him on this issue, totally loathe him on almost everything else.

The indy social media lot love the guy though, and they will listen to him.

anonymice · 05/01/2018 11:26

Not all those who share my views about the GRA are people I like or who I agree with on almost any other issue. Does that make their views on the GRA invalid? I can see the hypocrisy of being an active contributor to the Nats debate whilst residing in Bath. I don't think that invalidates the very clear points he makes about the general distaste for the GRA though. I don't like the Daily Fail. In fact I really dislike them and am sure they like neither women nor transgender people. But they highlight non compatible narratives from transgender women as opposed to women.....

RevStu · 05/01/2018 12:35

"Because he isn't one"

Yes I am.

"and it is attempting to assume a false credibility."

No I'm not.

"This is the man who thinks the Hillsborough fans brought it on themselves"

No I don't.

"amongst his other questionable beliefs."

Oh aye? What might those be?

(That's a rhetorical question, as your answer will just be more tired old lies and smears.)

Seeingadistance · 05/01/2018 12:36

I'm with Lass on Wings over Scotland. The guy is a nasty piece of work and his supporters are just as unpleasant.

RevStu · 05/01/2018 12:37

"His being Bristol was only relevant to his pontificating to those of us who live in Scotland that we should vote for separatism."

I've never lived in Bristol in my life. Keep the lies coming, champ.

MyAuntyBadger · 05/01/2018 12:41

RevStu, thanks for the article. Have you had much of a backlash? Any threats of dying in a fire etc.? (From the TAs)
