Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

Is there any actual connection between MRA & TRAs?

I've searched through some pretty foul MRA forums but I can't find a connection with any sympathy for the Trans-Rights Activist movement. Even 'moderate' forums like Reddit's (www.reddit.com/r/MensRights/) which seem to discuss similar subjects as can be found here, but with a distinct anti-feminist bias, still don't demonstrate any MRA-TRA 'conspiracy' at work.

Likewise on TRA forums like www.tgforum.com/wordpress/ I can't find any connection with MRA groups. There are no known links to each others forums that I can find. And no known listings of say MRA groups being allied to TRA groups (whilst you can find plenty of LGBT organisations associated with TRA's)

There is obviously a connection in their respective attitudes, identified by secretlyradical.blogspot.ae/2015/03/mra-or-tra.html

I can't though find any actual connection between MRA campaigners and TRA campaigners. They seem to be operating independently.

If that's the case, and I'm happy to be proven wrong...is it possible that including the MRA movement in opposing the TRA movement is a distraction? That perhaps the wrong target is being highlighted, who aren't going to take a blind bit of notice of any effort to relate the two, because no solid connection exists?

I get the feeling that the real instigators of the current 'trend' for all things trans are getting off scot-free, with little or no attention being paid to them, whilst others obsess about targeting their campaigns against the wrong targets.

There are MRA groups advocating identifying as transwomen to undermine feminism, although this particular group doesn't seem to think that the transactivist movement originated from MRAs (just that they could hop on board for their own ends):

There are also transwomen who are openly involved in MRA organisations:

Ok. It seems a bit thin.

For instance, for the Hampstead Ladies Pond story, allowing trans women/self-identifiers to swim there, the decision has been taken without any MRA involvement that I can see;

'The Kenwood Ladies’ Pond Association said it welcomed transgender women as members and was discussing privacy concerns over changing and showering. “The KLPA is committed to ensuring safe and respectful swimming at the Ladies’ Pond and a social environment in which everyone can expect to be treated with respect, courtesy and consideration.”'

I'm inclined to think the MRA-TRA association that some try to push is a red herring. And a genuine distraction which diverts effort unnecessarily. As far as I can see the MRA's just think the subjects are a good laugh. You won't though be seeing any MRA groups marching with TRA's.

Wat? that makes no sense. A connection between two groups does not mean one group is behind every decision taken on behalf of the second group.
No one claimed TRA's are behind the Pond incident; the local council made that decision. No one said the council is made up of MRA's or TRA's.

What point are you actually trying to make?

I've seen quite a few TIMs who say they are MRAs or at least sympathetic to them. I'm also seeing an increasing number of MRAs throwing their weight behind trans ideology, mainly it seems to me because they can see the damage it's doing to feminist movement. Hannah Wallen is the latest. They only seem interested in transwomen, not transmen. On the other hand, the hyper conservative British MRAs- J4MB etc - can't bring themselves to support trans ideology but they have a good time gloating about men in women's sports. They claim feminists brought it on themselves.

Theryn Meyer, like Blaire White with whom she has a lot in common are libertarian, right wingers. Meyer and White have very little time for trans activists. Meyer gave evidence to the Canadian committee on the legislation which would criminalise misgendering - she opposed it- and she is a vociferous supporter of Prof. Jordan Peterson and of academic freedom.
