Nice to see people in such positions speaking up.

The first one was shared by someone on a HCP private fb page I am part of and was quite well received. There were quite a few posters who thought it was bigoted which was pretty disappointing since everyone on their has a medical background/training and a lot of what is being said is based purely on biological fact

However the bit about family values was a bit disappointing ie need man and woman to create a happy family - I don’t agree with that at all

I suppose it's just stereotyping "families".

But I thought it nice someone up the food chain is speaking out! Especially as she's a woman.

The American College of Paediatricians (despite its official sounding name) is a far right pressure group, rather than a group respected for their medical expertise, who among other things are anti abortion. They genuinely are doctors (just as in this country I'm sure you could find doctors who are extremely medically competent wh have some extreme political opinions). But they don't hold any special status within their profession. Hence their very traditional views on the family.

I think one is better off citing examples of well respected doctors not coming at this issue from a far-right political agenda.
