I'd be a bit more hopeful were it not for the fact that the IoP appear, judging by Physicsworld (their monthly mag) to have drunk the koolaid on this one. They've published an article by a TIM who teaches Physics who thinks he's some kind of role model for girls, had an "equality" issue where they paid lip-service to "gender-equality" but not a single mention of the motherhood penalty, reporting on the "bathroom bill" could've been straight out of the Graun, etc.
However, depending on what schools do with the money, it could have some positive effect.
