Good, well balanced piece in the Sun [shock]

I thought that this was a very good and fair piece.

I was surprised at how good the article was, but the person saying how they were more entitled to womanhood as they had earned it through their transition made me so angry. Again trans saying they are superior due to taking hormones and having surgery, gives me the rage

I really am hoping that the more main stream this becomes the less likely it is that legislation will be changed without proper scrutiny.

Totally missing the point here, I know, but why does she buy two of everything and take one back?? Wouldn't it be easier to just buy one and then... it take anything back, if she liked it??Confused

I assume she buys for e.g a 10 and a 12 and then takes back the one that doesn't fit.

Which only goes to highlight the differences between the sexes more for me because I take 45 things into the changing rooms and frequently buy none of it...

Ohhhh I see. Seems like a big hassle still...because you'd always have to take something back. Whereas if you just bought the 12 you'd end up taking it back and exchanging it only some of the time.

I thought this was well worth reading, too. It doesn't cover everything - the children's issue is omitted. But that's reasonable I think.

I was very happy to see it covered in the magazine of a mainstream tabloid. The choice of interviewees was good.

It's a useful intro to the debate - hope it brings more people to the discussion.

The photo editor managed to find some truly terrible photos of Travis , not much better of Juno Dawson , a perfectly normal picture of Sarah Ditum and possibly, if one is going to be shallow and judge on appearances, a really nice one of Miranda Yardley.

Yes, an article that goes some way of pitching the opposing views, and pointing out the disadvantages to women. There's increasing numbers of mainstream (redtop) news outlets that are focusing on the issue. It's a pity that the Sun doesn't allow comments; it would be interesting to see responses to this article.

Potato25 - hopefully there will be many readers who have picked up on that point, and seen the ridiculousness for what it is.

I think you can tell a genuine transwoman like Miranda by the fact that their clothes / make-up/ hair etc are typical of a woman of her age & body shape. The intention is to pass.

Whereas a typical transactivist tends to wear a few over-the top pink/frilly items and loud make up. The intention is attention-seeking, to make it obvious that they are a male-bodied person wanting to invade women's spaces /make them uncomfortable

Agree it could have done with photos of our good friends Alex and Danielle but otherwise I thought it was great. The inclusion of 'in more woman than you' and 'men won't do anything' is enough to hit a nerve with most women reading.

Shit, I’ve done fuck all to earn my right to womanhood, sitting around complacently with my XX chromosomes.

Either I need to put in some serious hard work to learn how to do make-up and start being interested in ladies’ things, or... can I just hand it back, my unfairly claimed womanhood? Perhaps I could give it to a poor oppressed man in some sort of living donor arrangement?

The thing is though, I think that most people are, or will be, gender-critical when they see the full effects of it.

From the comments that these mainstream articles get, it's clear that most people disagree with trans-ideology.

I would lurve this sort of woman to be gifted a few years of periods. Not 35-40 years of them, just say five years. With occasional flooding, cramps, unexpected 'startings' and false endings - you know the sort of thing....the things that really make you feel 'like a woman'.

I don't even wish on them the sexist patriarchal shit we all live with. All the time.

Just a few periods.
