This isn't meant to be tabloid-esque scaremongering, I'm just trying to follow things through to their (un)natural conclusion. I'd be interested in everyone's thoughts. So, if the GRA goes through:
- an eventual end to women in positions of power - MPs, women on boards etc as transwomen can fill up the quotas.
- no more girls (secondary age) and women in sport - transwomen are better, faster, stronger etc.
- Women driven out of public spaces more generally - if men can use women's toilets then they may no longer be safe. You can't spend hours out at a museum/shopping centre if you can't use the facilities.
Then with sex robots -
- Does it become like Germany, where areas with mega brothels have increased rates of sexual assault and rape? It is said that the robots would be beneficial as men would use them instead of raping women (nice), but would they then see all women as objects/feel entitled to them (even more than happens now)?
- Relationships. If men can get all their sexual needs from a robot, do they need actual women? So no need for relationships? Though they still need women for cooking, cleaning and facilitating their careers and wifework etc so maybe not.
One thing we still have is reproduction and society needs us for that. So back to where we used to be? In the home, doing domestic chores and producing babies. Or something worse?
Am I being too dystopian, or nowhere near dystopian enough?
