With the GRA changes and sex robots, what is the future for women?

This isn't meant to be tabloid-esque scaremongering, I'm just trying to follow things through to their (un)natural conclusion. I'd be interested in everyone's thoughts. So, if the GRA goes through:

• an eventual end to women in positions of power - MPs, women on boards etc as transwomen can fill up the quotas.
• no more girls (secondary age) and women in sport - transwomen are better, faster, stronger etc.
• Women driven out of public spaces more generally - if men can use women's toilets then they may no longer be safe. You can't spend hours out at a museum/shopping centre if you can't use the facilities.

Then with sex robots -

• Does it become like Germany, where areas with mega brothels have increased rates of sexual assault and rape? It is said that the robots would be beneficial as men would use them instead of raping women (nice), but would they then see all women as objects/feel entitled to them (even more than happens now)?

• Relationships. If men can get all their sexual needs from a robot, do they need actual women? So no need for relationships? Though they still need women for cooking, cleaning and facilitating their careers and wifework etc so maybe not.

One thing we still have is reproduction and society needs us for that. So back to where we used to be? In the home, doing domestic chores and producing babies. Or something worse?

Am I being too dystopian, or nowhere near dystopian enough?

We won't stop using public toilets but someone will invent some kind of modesty cover like a big skirt and at the swimming pool we will get undressed under big towels, because being filmed will become even more common.

We will end up being forced to cover up head to toe. Our female bodies will be upsetting to TIMs and too desirable to the rape addicts who are clearly entitled to our bodies.

Shut us up, shut us down, shut us out.

Exactly how many men would need to become trans women for women to be totally eradicated from sport. Positions of power. Pretty sure the %of trans women is pretty small. I doubt men would become trans just to compete in a sport as a woman etc.

As for sex dolls. I doubt we will be replaced with them. I mean you already get the fake vagina sex toy. How many women do you know who have been replaced by one of those.

Also I don't judge men quite so low as to think they are only after us for sex and cleaning. My dh also likes me for my companionship, conversation skills, social skills. You don't get that from a robot and I'm sure if you ask more men the biggest percent would rather have sex with a real woman than a robot.

No. The eggs will be harvested from female infants before they are destroyed. The rest will be percured in the laboratory. Lily Madigalin will see to it. Then s/he will raise the new generation.

Interesting questions. I don't know how things will end but I realised a fair while back that continued progress towards equality is not inevitable. Hard won rights are not set in stone. Our rights and successes are fragile and could be swept away very quickly indeed.

I feel that the problem with sexual liberation was not that women's sexuality was liberated but that men's was let looser. Hence the normalisation of pornography, the sea of violent, woman-hating filth on the internet and the normalisation of acts like anal sex which was hardly on the radar when I was younger.

I don't think sex robots will replace women though. People still fall in love and that chemistry will never disappear. Some men will also still want a real live person to conquer and dominate. Unfortunately I think this is why the prostitution of real live women will not be replaced by a brothel staffed by sex robots, which would be the best use of the horrible things.

Women will still think a bloke with a sex robot is the saddest git in the world, same as if he had a blow up doll in his cupboard. For this reason, I have some faith that they will never gain anyone any cachet and nobody will be boasting about their new purchase down the pub any time soon.

It's not just those 2 fronts. There's another terrifying one in the shape of Abrahamic religions resurging: Islamisation of Western counties, evangelical Christianity in the US, ultra-conservative Judaism in Israel. Overall, women are getting thrown under the bus from all angles.

Yes, female status has gone up and down throughout time and in various regions. We're never safe. For as long as men have the benefit of sexual dimorphism - they will abuse it. If more egalitarian societies did exist in hunter-gatherer times - I theorise that it was only because men didn't have the means to enslave us back then. As soon as they acquired the means with the agrarian revolution - that was the 1st thing they did.

The able feminists will buy a floating island (they will be a reality within 15 years) and go and live there.
