Fed up of the suicide blackmail trotted out by some in the trans community.

Watching GMTV this morning and apparently male sex offenders/prisoners who want to become women and threaten suicide if they are not transfered to a womens prison should be allowed to, so they dont kill themselves.

Basically their threat of suicide is way more important than the physical and mental safety of female prisioners.

I am fed up of being threatened with none exsistant suicide rates.
I am fed up of the emotional blackmail used just so men get their own way.

We are being held hostage by men who have a very clear and selfish agenda.
If women behaved in this way they would be called hysterical, mentally unwell and sectioned.

It cannot be anyone's responsibility to keep someone else from killing themselves. The increase in suicide and suicidal ideation in teens goes hand in hand with the massive increase in mental health issues in children, (which no one is really looking into or thinking about because it would make for very uncomfortable reading) the massive overwhelm of CAMHS and that only the very extreme end of need is being seen at all, and at grass roots level a failure to teach coping skills, resilience and have expectations that children and adolescents with severe anxiety need to work proactively to manage their condition and take responsibility for it.

When someone threatens suicide (and having lived with a suicidal partner I learned the hard way) the answer is to call their crisis team or the police, and not to run frantically around in circles pandering to them because you're frightened of what they might do. My ex would threaten and be vulnerable and terrifying for days at a time while I was providing attention and taking responsibility for them. When I put the responsibility back on them they started accessing support and taking medication, there was a lot of manipulation and behaviour going on.

Threatening suicide absolutely is a recourse of abusive men in controlling partners and family.

There are lots of factors going on here. And yes, absolutely I agree, there should be a specific Trans and non binary prison available for anyone who expresses not feeling safe in the prison assigned to their biological sex due to their self identification. No one should have to be imprisoned in a place where they are unsafe or at risk of violence. A specific specialist prison would also remove the 'privilege' incentive and the 'getting into women's prisons' incentive that has led to many male sex offenders suddenly identifying as trans, while providing specific facilities and support to those who genuinely need it.

But most TRAs would reject this option because the whole point is getting into women specific facilities.
