Maria Miller - MP - complete disconnect from reality

Here is the chair of the Women & Equalities committee completely failing to join up the dots as she comments on some disgraceful incidents of the rape of girls in schools.

She talks about the need for protection, safeguards and guidance to protect girls - completely ignoring the fact that she is personally responsible for one of the most potentially dangerous developments for women and girls - that of self ID that will allow any man who claims to be a woman access to all sex segregated spaces.

Well, I don't agree with Maria M on trans issues but I'm really glad she's drawing attention to sexual abuse in schools. This is exactly the sort of issue the Women and Equalities Committe should be addressing IMO.

It's a sad day that women have cause finally to be grateful that she is actually standing up for the rights of women and girls - as her track record to date is dismal.

The utter incoherence of the government responding to sexual harassment and ingrained misogyny making female MPs unsafe while vigorously supporting a sex offenders wet dream of a bill is stupefying.

I've pointed this out to my MP, twice. He's coping by pretending hard that I don't exist.

As is my MP buckets. Completely ignored my emails and letters.
However, I did see him recently on TV taking a gender critical approach to women's safe spaces so maybe all is not lost

Unless discussing individual cases, Maria Miller always talks about abuse of 'children' rather than girls, neatly missing the point that the overwhelming majority of abuse happens to girls, carried out by boys.

Yes, it does happen to some boys too and they should equally be protected but if you can't identify the issue fully how can you fix it?

Can you imagine what a relief it might be for a child, surrounded by a terrifying world of entirely inappropriate sexual images and activity at primary age, to want to opt out of it all together and not go through puberty at all. For a teenage girl to bind her breasts and fend off adulthood indefinitely?

Not to mention that surveys and data collection is suggesting we're busy raising the unhappiest generation of kids on record, including kids who were living through world wars. Why isn't anyone wondering if this reaction on the part of girls has anything to do with this?
