Read this article in The Guardian today, how can anyone (even Guardian readers) deny AGP exists. This man explains the glee in involving unsuspecting shop workers to his fetish - surely the shop girls (I can safely assume he targets the young female cashiers) should be protected from this. They are unconsenting participants in his fetish.
Unfortunately, this guy is going to be more protected than these women workers if and when self ID comes into effect.

“I let them know that I’m enjoying it, even if they aren’t.”

birdbandit · 16/11/2017 18:01

To reiterate:

As I pay, I smile and wink, as if to say, “I am enjoying this even if you aren’t.”

I think the problem is we are talking about AGP, you are talking about cross dressing, which are different things. But I think you know that.

Peace and love.

It’s a bit like the difference between flashers and someone buying a trench coat from M&S. And then commenters getting a cob on every time someone talked about flashers because they know lots of folk who wear trench coats who aren’t flashers, and anyway flashers don’t exist because they haven’t seen one, or that there are so few we don’t need to worry, and who are they harming anyway. Etc.

I understand that Crossdressers are different from AGP individuals. I understand that some men may crossdress for the self expression/art.
But surely most men who crossdress are doing it for a sexual thrill,. Next time you see a man in so-called women's clothes look at them closely; the gleam in their eye tends to give it away, almost like they are on a clinical mania high.
Crossdressers advise each other to down play and take it slowly with their partner until they are comfortable with that level and then to slowly, slowly escalate. It's a known technique in the CD community. A partner may at the beginning, even a couple of years, believe their partner is just sensitive/arty/special. Then over the years the fetish side takes over.
FYI Grayson Perry fully admits that his dressing is a fetish, he is one of the few CD men who publicly admit to this. He also admits a part of the fetish is the humiliation aspect. I applaud him for his honesty as in today's climate it is a brave thing to admit to.

For proof of what Mightymikey says, check out www.crossdressers.com

There is a lot of chat there (waves at DH) about how to gaslight your OH into believing your chat. Also lots about the sex side. You might need to register to get the gross stuff. I think they know about MN!

@whiskyowl, I was in no way referring to what you do. No idea why you decided I was referring to you, I was referring to the article and the description given of the interaction with the sales assistant.

Interestingly, whilst accusing me of all kinds of opinions that I haven't in any way expressed, you have shown you're quite prepared to make assumptions about me too. I have not said a single thing about kinks/fetishes/sexual fantasies yet you have decided to pigeonhole me as some kind of prude. Odd.

MightyMikey · 16/11/2017 18:49

Also why is being a "prude" and " vanilla" a bad thing. If the prudish person doesn't interefe with the kinky people and make them feel bad about their sex choices, don't ridicule and scoff at someone who has different boundaries.
I feel the bigoted/prude label is attached to women as something to be ashamed of. Really it's just knowing what you like and expressing boundaries on things you don't like.
I'm reclaiming the prude label proudly - it means I know what I like and feel able to say no to what makes me uncomfortable.

One persons pride is another’s kinky.

Its just a slur designed to make a person ashamed of their sexual preferences/boundaries, and therefore more easily manipulated into compliance with what someone else wanted to do.

Imagine if women were to call gay men prudes or vanilla or basic, because they didn’t want to have sex with women...oh wait that does happen to lesbians.
