I do find it amusing that Owen Jones is finger pointing at the 'Transphobia' in the New Statesman ffs. He thinks he gets to pontificate the correct stance on every issue lest we be bigots. I could get it if it were the Spectator. It just confirms my recent resignation to the fact that leftwingers these day allow no resistance in the ranks, which is probably why I find myself backing away and am without a political home these days.

Like many women, the Trans issue is the line in the sand for me and I will not support a party that throws women under the bus.

By his own definition of transphobia, that makes him transphobic, surely?

OJ is not the Voice of Socialism though, even though he'd like to be. And that (along with the misogyny) is one of the reasons he attacks people like Helen Lewis and Glosswitch - because he perceives them as competition. It's a bizarre kind of megalomania.

Thats the one. You know, its kind of embarrassing to admit but I used to love Owen Jones. The whole 'eww cunnilungus' after berating lesbians for not wanting to suck dick was a huge turning point for me and opened my eyes to how hes just as much of a huge hypocrite as the rest of them, and now I find him a bit slimey tbh.

I notice when he goes off on one, its always transwomens feelings he is concerned about, not the feelings of transmen. A few replies on there are going on about how transmen want to be in male facilities and such...which dioesn't seem to be true. The few accounts of transmens experiences that I have read (oddly, there doesn't seem to be much out there about transmen, its transwomen who shout the loudest and get the platform in general) they do NOT want into male spaces, but feel they should support transwomen in their fights.

He called lesbians 'whatever' in a pro-LGBT article once too!

Owen Jones doesn't even bother to hide his abject misogyny any more. He's one of those gay men who really hates women.
