Legislation is going before the Greek Parliament to allow any an to self-id into womanhood. This means that any man can use women's showers, changing rooms, refuges, homeless shelters, prison cells because HE SAYS SO. Jobs in women's rape crisis centres must be open to men who say they are women. Men can take part in women's sports if they say so. Scholarships designed to bring women into STEM employment will bring in more men.
A petition has been set up asking Greek MPs to think about the issue of gender self-id and how it will affect Greek women. I'm posting a link to the petition which has an open letter setting out the issues as they affect women. I hope Mumsnet won't delete it.
