Has the F Word always been so pro trans?

This piece by Jess Bradley was circulated in their news letter. It made me want to cry. "The TERFS, the TERFS!"

Sorry I don't know why that's not a clickable link. It worked last time I did it but not this time. Can anyone else try to post a proper link?

Jess Bradley is a violent misogynist

Oh my god! Why is the f word publishing articles by that person? This is awful. I didn't know the author was the same person that had tweeted that. I know it's just a multi author blog but publishing that article in the newsletter is a clear vindication of that viewpoint. I sometimes read their articles. This is so upsetting.

The F Word has been prioritising transgenderism over feminism for several years now. I remember when they were actual feminists when they were new. I wrote for them once but I wouldn't these days.

MillicentFawcett · 02/10/2017 09:46

Not quite clear what the connection is with the F Word - as far as I know, Jess Bradley doesn't write for them.

MillicentFawcett · 02/10/2017 09:48

Sorry - ignore that last post. I've just read your OP properly. Half asleep!

wrappedupinmyselflikeaspool · 02/10/2017 09:53

Countess, yes I used to read it regularly years ago, probably when it was new. I honestly hadn't realised it had been taken over by handmaidens. I actually don't mind when things are mixed I like to read different points of view. I do feel this article steps way over the mark though.

Millicent, that's why this is so upsetting. They are making a point I think by including that article in the newsletter. They are letting "the TERFS" know they are not welcome and won't be listened to. How sad! Should we feel sorry for pro trans women ? I'm never sure. They've been sucked in to something awful.

Wrappedup, I agree absolutely. Be diverse by all means. I wouldn't dream of avoiding a feminist event or publication simply because it included transwomen. But the stuff Jess Bradley has said is so misogynist.

Misgendering is violence. Hitting women isn't violence

From the twitter feed on the link.

WTF? Shock

Elendon · 02/10/2017 12:13

I also wrote something for the F Word, but it would probably be seen as Terf now.

JessicaEccles · 02/10/2017 13:55

i Misgendering is violence. Hitting women isn't violence

yeah, if you want to hit a woman and get away with it- just wear a dress Angry

pigsknickers · 02/10/2017 19:16

I think the person who tweeted that was being ironic?
