Theres a difference between freedom of speech and persecution which the writer doesn't get.

At least Daily Mail readers will now know that this law means any man can access a woman's space.

Datun - exactly what I thought. It makes some good points very clearly but fucking hell they're no friends of mine :(

At least the incident at speakers corner is written about again.

That just put me through a loop... how come the right-wing papers (Times, Sun and now Mail!?!) are suddenly showing radical feminists sympathy? It feels very disconcerting - is it post-Leveson era jitters about curtailing freedom of the press? Could it be the decline of the printed copy and the social media trend towards the distrust of the mainstream news sources? Clutches at straws... scratches head...

Richard Littlejohn has written a column today about the cost of providing fertility treatment to transgender youngsters who have lost their fertility to cross hormones / 'sex change' operations. Not sure I'd want to take away that lifeline actually, given the youth of many transitioners And likelihood of detransition later

What he doesn't seem to have twigged is the sheer cost to the NHS of surgical procedures and lifelong hormones.

I think it's not so much that they're showing sympathy to radical feminists as that they realise the idiocy of the extreme transactivist position. I imagine people like AN Wilson (who has two adult daughters) don't much like the thought that their female relatives are being forced to share changing rooms with people who are biologically male.

I am still shocked and puzzled that this bill is being proposed by a Tory government. The Conservative Party is the party of tradition, of keeping things as they are. How is the idea of self-identification going to play with the traditional Tory constituencies of older people? I can't see that it can do anything other than utterly alienate them.

I'm sure they didn't have the slightest notion of how this would play out. Because it will largely effect women and they don't care.

Now it's in MSM and all manner of people are having a wtf moment, including men, of course, I suspect they might be getting a slight clue as to how it will be received.
