Great news.
Although I'll believe there's not a catch when I see it.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 26/09/2017 21:03

Cautiously pleased...

DJBaggySmalls · 26/09/2017 21:04

Thats really good news. I confess I'm surprised.

SoftSheen · 26/09/2017 21:04

Great news. A significant step in the right direction for Saudi women.

ErrolTheDragon · 26/09/2017 21:17

So long as they can see well enough (I'm not sure the niquab is mandatory).
Do they still require a male chaperone to travel?

But yes, a step in the right direction. There have been a few other small steps recently I believe.

AssassinatedBeauty · 26/09/2017 21:23

It's a step forward, I'll wait till it actually is happening in reality before being convinced.

whoputthecatout · 26/09/2017 21:25

I think a lot of it is due to economic pressures. They need more women in the work force. They are also keen to improve their image in the world. I doubt very much it has anything to do with being fair to women.

Shoxfordian · 27/09/2017 08:11

Good as long as women don't need a man's permission to get a license

overmydeadbody · 27/09/2017 08:17

This is great news and a huge step forward for women living there.

overmydeadbody · 27/09/2017 08:17

I don't think it matters what their motives are, it will still help women who live there.

Gileswithachainsaw · 27/09/2017 08:20

This is great.

However is t it dependant on a man having to teach them meaning husbands/brothers have to go along to?

Anatidae · 27/09/2017 08:21

Good! Dragging them kicking and screaming into the eighteenth century, what progress!

A small step forward. Fuck me im glad I wasn't born there.

I'm happy for Saudi Women, but can't bring myself to feel much of anything positive about this.

Are we to feel grateful and thankful that women have been given this tiny concession? It just makes me fucking angry.
