Sorry if this is on here already but just seen it on twitter.

It's this Wednesday in Brighton which may be too short notice for me but you can book here. www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/debate-not-hate-we-need-to-talk-about-gender-tickets-38129665857/amp

I have a very good feeling about this - there won't be trouble.
Plus, if there was, the security at the venue is very good indeed.

It is brilliant how this discussion is becoming mainstream largely through the efforts of the prime drivers from MN. Most of the women becoming interested and concerned are not what people would call radical feminists; they are the daughters, sisters, mothers, granddaughters, wives, girlfriends with genuine concerns not tran bashers as depicted by some. Looking forward to hearing about the Brighton event. Too far away myself sadly.

BeyondNoone · 27/09/2017 10:23

Hope you all have a great day and it goes swimmingly!

Are there any MNers there who want to post updates? Grin

Sillydoggy · 27/09/2017 10:48

I am extremely grateful to the brave women pushing this forward and not allowing the debate to be silenced. For the first time I start to feel hope that we can be heard. I don't usually post but I do read and wanted to come on to offer support and encouragement for this event.
Thank you

I’m here at The Grand, unfortunately I have my toddler in tow 😬. All being well he’ll sleep for me so I can keep posting.

Lancelottie · 27/09/2017 10:58

I'm finding that very few people I talk to have any idea that there is any move to change the laws around gender recognition, or, in some cases, any idea that it's currently legally possible to be recognised as the opposite sex.

No-one else I've spoken to had heard of Martin Ponting, or Lauren Jeska, or any trans participants in the Olympics or high-level sport (well, one person had, but assumed they were all intersex like Semenya, and thus merited sympathetic treatment).

There's a sort of feeling of 'Oh, gender stuff, only teenagers and hardline feminists care about that', as though both are coming at it from the same angle but having an in-fight about the details.

Goof luck everyone. I'll be with you in spirit.

Don't forget to have multiple people filming from different angles from before it starts onwards. Particularly entrances and exits to catch nobs in hoodies skulking in and out.

TheWeeWitch · 27/09/2017 11:20

No problem types that I can see so far.

Dr Julia Long speaking now with her customary calm clarity in explaining the ins and ours of the GRA beginning in 2004.

(Toddler asleep in pram = winning).

TheWeeWitch · 27/09/2017 11:20

*outs

StinkPickle · 27/09/2017 11:28

So grateful to the brave women putting themselves out there to stand up for this issue.

Wish I could be there but I'm a plane ride away

TheWeeWitch · 27/09/2017 11:32

Ruth Serwotka begins by asserting her right to speak about these issues - to enthusiastic applause - and continues in addressing the abuse (physical and online) and the shutting down of the Sept 13th debate.

MorrisZapp · 27/09/2017 11:35

Brilliant women.

TheWeeWitch · 27/09/2017 11:43

Stephanie Davis-Arai now addressing how self gender ID will affect children and families and how schools will be/are being infiltrated by these ideas about gender/sex.

Gileswithachainsaw · 27/09/2017 11:45

Wish I could be there too.

They are very brave given recent events and it's a topic that needs discussing.

RaininSummer · 27/09/2017 11:46

It sounds wonderful. Ty for the updates.

TheWeeWitch · 27/09/2017 11:47

Stephanie now speaking about the use of puberty blockers in children and adolescents - listing some shocking stats and facts.

TheWeeWitch · 27/09/2017 11:49

Now taking about the mental health crisis affecting teenage girls and how trans bloggers etc. are preying on these vulnerabilities.

TheWeeWitch · 27/09/2017 11:49

*talking

BeyondNoone · 27/09/2017 11:55
