Oh ffs.

I've just seen this photo on FB. It's made me irrationally angry, men in the comments talking about how women 'make up rapes' and some even saying it protects both men and women somehow..?
So. Instead of focusing on the issue of men raping women we should get women to sign pieces of paper to say it's fine?
I can't even put into words all the reasons this is fucked up.

Oh ffs.

@Infowars1 the point would be that it's not consensual if you're drunk? That works both ways.
Thank you @AssassinatedBeauty. I was shocked, I don't think I would have gone to the police anyway as I didn't feel I had enough proof, how do you prove you've been raped ?

Datun · 11/08/2017 10:49

No, of course she can't. But if she doesn't have the capacity to consent because of intoxication, she doesn't just call it rape, it IS rape.

Infowars1 · 11/08/2017 10:59

What if they are both drunk?

Xenophile · 11/08/2017 11:03

Infowars... who has the penis?

PricklyBall · 11/08/2017 11:06

Interesting choice of username there, Infowars.

(For those who don't know the ins and outs of the American politicised media scene at the moment, "Infowars" is an alt-right "news" and polemic website - think something that makes Breitbart look reasonable. Regulars on this board may want to bear that in mind when engaging.)

Infowars1 · 11/08/2017 11:06

What does that have to do with it?? They are both drunk both happy to go along with it, can't wake up in the morning and call it rape!

Nonibaloni · 11/08/2017 11:09

This makes my blood boil, he consent issue I mean. I don't understand a grey area, what kind of man carries on if they are unsure. Who thinks she's stopped fighting and crying, she's clearly changed her mind.

In this day and age I thought when the videos that rapists take would change opinions. When a females body is being manhadled because she is so drunk or high she can't move undoubtedly it's rape. It must feel like rape to the rapist.
But no, the victims are victimised again as the video of their assualt are mocked.
I don't understand how the criminal justice system has a debate over it either. I mean I do obviously but it would be nice to see I would tide turning.

Infowars1 · 11/08/2017 11:09

It's just unbiased news, not like msm fake drivel,

Xenophile · 11/08/2017 11:13

Infowars is unbiased news?

ODFOD.

I thought your name might be ironic, but no. Ah well. The point of my question is that it is only the person with the penis who can rape in law.

Infowars1 · 11/08/2017 11:14

So what about all these female teachers "raping" their students? Thoughts on that?

Xenophile · 11/08/2017 11:18

They can't. They can, on the other hand sexually assault them in law. Hope that helps.

Datun · 11/08/2017 11:20

So what about all these female teachers "raping" their students? Thoughts on that?

Apart from the fact that women can't rape men, sexual assault by woman on a man is abhorrent.

So let's take all the women that do this, subtract them from all the men who do it, and you are still left with 94% of violent and sexual crimes being committed by men.

Thoughts on that?

Datun · 11/08/2017 11:21

Fortunately for women everywhere, the law disagrees with you

Except a drunken consensual night of sex is not rape.

If you're not sure if someone has the capacity to consent, might I suggest you don't stick your dick in them.

PricklyBall · 11/08/2017 11:35

That's the thing, though, isn't it? Women for the most part do not throw the word "rape" around after a consensual one-night stand. The clue is in the word "consensual".

Those bastions of radical feminism the British Home Office and the Metropolitan Police have commissioned research into the prevalence of false accusations - they are round the 3% level, in line with other crimes like burglary and assault. There is no epidemic of women crying rape the morning after consensual sex because... why? Why would one do that? Because you were feeling antsy due to a severe hangover? Because you had to do the walk of shame, so you thought you'd add to the experience with a medical exam of your vagina then having a defence lawyer attempt to do a character assassination on the witness stand?

What we have instead is a situation where a man can rape with impunity because he will be believed. There was a case recently where a man used the defence that he tripped and fell, erect penis first, into a drunk woman's vagina. He was found not guilty. There was a case where a man beat a woman up in a dark alley - but because he'd been seen chatting to her at the bar of the club an hour earlier and because his lawyer claimed some women liked rough sex, he got off. A man can have sex with a woman who is unconscious due to drink, but because she used the phrase "harder" to his mate, and they can find one other man (possibly paid for his testimony) who says he had consensual sex with the same woman and she said "harder" with him, he gets off. Seriously, men don't need this ridiculous bit of paper - they can rape with impunity anyway.

Xenophile · 11/08/2017 11:50

I feel Jacky Fleming might need an airing at this point...

Oh ffs.
Datun · 11/08/2017 11:55

All on a par with those next day texts. I'm so sorry about last night/ I hope you forgive me/I don't know what came over me, I'll never do that again.

Even with those get read out in court and reported everywhere, people still blame the woman!

Because magically they did not refer to any kind of coercion, no siree, nothing to see here.

Neverknowing · 11/08/2017 12:08

@Infowars1 I don't think many people would have drunk consensual sex and then wake up and call it rape?!
The first time me and my partner had sex we were both very drunk but I had made it clear before then that I would have done it sober anyway? If I had always batted someone off while sober and then they took me home when I was too drunk to say no, that's rape? You know they don't want sex but they're vulnerable so you're going to do it anyway?
If you're too drunk you can't consent. It's not hard.

"They can't. They can, on the other hand sexually assault them in law. Hope that helps" - Sadly many men/young men in particular argue this is sexism against men. They simply refuse to accept that the term rape necessitates a penis.

However, Xenophile do you think the penalty for penetration via penis man to woman should be the same as sexual assault of woman on man? What if the woman put something in his ass?

Neverknowing · 11/08/2017 12:11

I really appreciate all of those facts @PricklyBall. It's important to show we're not talking nonsense here. We're not just 'crazy feminists' these are facts they can't be disputed.

MrGHardy · 11/08/2017 12:14

What's terrible is when they then tell the woman "shouldn't have gotten drunk then". I honestly wonder how people can justify this to themselves in their brains.

It is considered the same. It's just the wording. Rape has to be with a penis, because of the extra element of pregnancy.

If the woman commits the same or similar crime on a man, it's called sexual assault, but it carries the same tarrif.

The law does not trivialise female on male sexual assault.

Given, statistically, men are equally as likely to be drunk as the women they attack, you should be hearing an equal outcry over men getting drunk in these situations. But no.
