Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

"Oh, that won't ever happen"

A while back there were some discussions about child sex dolls, and the general consensus (here and elsewhere) was that they would prevent users committing other child rape/abuse crimes. The general feminist view was that they were a "gateway drug" or would be indicative of other offences.

Sadly, it seems that the feminist view was the correct one.

Indicative of other offences turns out to be the correct answer.

"Of the seven men charged with importing the dolls so far, six also faced allegations linked to child abuse images."

QuentinSummers · 01/08/2017 16:46

I heard this on the radio yesterday and they had some idiot claiming the dolls could help reduce offending against children by providing "an outlet".
I am sick of this pervasive attitude that mens orgasms are a need that must be met however that man deems necessary.

TheSmallClangerWhistlesAgain · 01/08/2017 16:49

Making these dolls available is legitimising the desire to have sex with children.

Farontothemaddingcrowd · 01/08/2017 16:52

Yes completely agree. Users will want more next time :(

MrsKCastle · 01/08/2017 16:56

Don't read the comments on that article, they're not good for your blood pressure.

Pawpainting · 01/08/2017 16:58

Yes, this is what I thought when I first read about these dolls. They are indulging a dangerous disorder and could possibly lead to an escalation in behaviour. Is this not obvious?

I read about this on a Reddit news thread yesterday and as usual the paedophile apologists were out in force. It's disgusting and very sinister that there seems to be an organised effort online to influence opinion.

TheSmallClangerWhistlesAgain · 01/08/2017 17:04

There has been quite a lot of opinion about "virtuous paedophiles" and talk about it as an orientation rather than a massive disorder. It makes me wonder who is the puppet master in all this, who is bankrolling all the op-ed pieces and influencing journalists?

AssassinatedBeauty · 01/08/2017 17:51

It seems obvious to me as a non-expert that these child dolls will normalise the urges these people get. It will also encourage them to objectify their victims rather than see them as real people. It abstracts the whole idea, and to me makes it more likely that they'll find accessing images/video more acceptable. And then progress further into criminality from there.

Even if it is an "orientation", it is disordered and unhealthy. It's never going to be the same as an actual sexual orientation.

These things are so obviously wrong I can't believe there's so many people who think they're acceptable.

Men abusing women and children again

Identifiesaspissedoff · 01/08/2017 18:04

Ffs! These were advertised to me on wish, I removed the app and will never shop there again.

OneFlewOverTheDodosNest · 01/08/2017 21:34

How anyone could have thought this would do anything except enable escalation is beyond me.

The only way those dolls would be even slightly acceptable were if they were all fitted with tracking devices and used in sting operations.

AssignedMentalAtBirth · 01/08/2017 21:44

God, I want to be sick

But yes, paedo acceptance will be one of the next 'progressive' step. Because you can't judge thoughts, eh?

Identifiesaspissedoff · 01/08/2017 21:49

I thought PIE already tried lumping Paedo rights in with LGB in the 70's? That didn't work so why are MRA's succeeding now with using LGBT to push their misogynistic agenda?

Xenophile · 01/08/2017 23:21

Well, it might have something to do with another, very powerful lobby group deciding that children are aware of their own sexual and gender identity from very young ages. If they are for that group, then men who are sexually attracted to small children will want to capitalise on that for their own agenda.

Does this man have a wife and what does she think of the doll!!!!

AssignedMentalAtBirth · 02/08/2017 00:05

What, you mean like the men who are attracted to themselves dressing up and behaving like submissive females and therefore feel entitled to want everything that is female?

That, or everyone thinking they are oppressed?

phoolani · 02/08/2017 00:07

That this is even a 'debate' is just part of the gas lighting of women (and children) that goes on under the patriarchy.
If this man was your father, and you knew about his 'doll' would you let your children near him unaccompanied? If he was your uncle? If he was your church warden?
Of course you fucking wouldn't! This is a man who wants to have sex with young girls! What's to debate??

JigglyTuff · 02/08/2017 07:31

Irritated - I think his wife was very ill for some time so may not have been aware.

But I think a lot of women close their eyes to their husband's porn use. After all, if you don't know what they're watching, it could easily be hardcore rape stuff.

DeleteOrDecay · 02/08/2017 21:50

Sickening. Who on earth thought child sex rape dolls would be a good idea? The adult ones are bad enough.

The names and addresses of everyone purchasing these should be sent to the police (obviously won't happen). We should not be normalising paedophile behaviour.

So sad the lengths some men will go to have an orgasm. Even scarier is the lengths some people will go to to ensure men get their orgasms.

Fucking priorities eh?Angry
