Good article despite it being the DM, critical of being able to change gender. She makes some good points.

Sorry have no idea how to link.

Just copy and paste the whole web address and put double square brackets around it.

I have to say that my reaction was woefully cynical: hmmm, here's a beleaguered Tory Party with no majority, reaching for a fashionable measure which both costs the Treasury nothing (hurrah!) and bravely shows doubters that the Tories are not, after all, in the grip of the homophobic old Ulsterfolk of the DUP

I reckon this nails it.

In March she was much more pro trans. I've seen at least three critical articles in the press this morning. The Times, the Telegraph and now the Daily Mail.

Word is getting out. Keep writing, keep talking.

I've seen at least three critical articles in the press this morning.

That's promising Datun. This issue is becoming increasingly concerning to me and I'd been becoming ever more astounded it seemed so many were blind to the disregarding of women inherent in it - critical articles being published is reassuring and may well alert others to what's going on.

Wow - I very much got the impression she was bathing in the Kool-Aid when she wrote post JM. I did wonder if she was very sensitive to the suicide statistics that so much was made of and that was why she was so personally supportive.

Am I right in thinking that she has retired from the beeb?

Anyway, this is makes such careful and clear points in the proposed legislation that are very valuable.

Bedsettee · 25/07/2017 10:27

The current comments are mainly sensible as well (unusual for the DM).

DM comments are a funny thing. When it comes to dog whistle stuff and crude anti-PeeCee hatchet jobs they seem to toe the line but quite often when it's a common sense right-wrong issue the consensus can be pretty reasonable. In general I have much more faith in the readership than in the publication.

Lancelottie · 25/07/2017 11:23

Well hurray for that.

(Bet she gets TERF slurs, death threats and a complaint from bloody India Knight that she knows how to be a better woman than Libby Purves does.)

Tim Stanley in the Daily Telegraph today. At last, the media is beginning to see what Justin Greening and Maria Miller apparently can't.

One of my guilty pleasures is clicking on the DM comments when I am bored...........................
