Baroness Hale to become first woman appointed as Britain's most senior judge

That's brilliant news.

That's fantastic news, both because she's a woman and because she's an extremely able judge. I sincerely hope her tenure will see the appointment of more women to the SC: there are eight or nine vacancies coming up in the next three years.

Baroness Hale is an excellent judge and also a real champion of women's rights outside of her impartial role as a judge. She is also incredibly supportive of younger lawyers (particularly women). She really is a fantastic figurehead and role model for the legal profession.

She is absolutely fantastic. One of my icons in terms of a career path I'd be interested in going down (not as successfully as her obviously but she's incredibly inspiring). Hugely successful, excelled so incredibly and a passionate supporter of women's rights - what a woman. This will be excellent news.
