The film discusses numerous issues facing men and boys such as male suicide rates, workplace fatalities and high-risk jobs, false allegations of rape, military conscription, lack of services for male victims of domestic violence and rape, higher rates of violent victimization, issues concerning divorce and child custody, disparity in criminal sentencing, disproportionate funding and research on men's health issues, educational inequality, societal tolerance of misandry, and men's lack of reproductive rights.

Brexit Why would these issues be discussed in a women's rights forum? If you really feel these issues are being ignored then put it in AIBU, Chat, Film. Hope that helps.

Women are not on this board to sort out the rights of men because they know that men are not stupid and can sort these things out for themselves.

Setting aside the issue of funding, like asassinated suggests, I wonder if fans of the film genuinely think it could offer balance if it doesn't interview any of the numerous women that A Voice For Men have boasted that they've harrassed, threatened, doxxed, bullied and in general been absolutely vile about?

If they put on a good show for this film, then an honest film-maker should surely have put at least a token effort into looking at what happens when they're not on their best behaviour?

For example Brexit

This thread in tellyaddicts discusses the rape of young girls as per the BBC mini series Three Girls. It's available now to catch up on the BBC and shows tonight and tomorrow.

I would also be interested to know what rights men think they don't have.

Grin SylviaPoe. Yes that'd be it!

Completely unbiased film nothing to see.

But it's just fine because she's got new friends. Like one of the executive producers, Mike Cernovich, who, um, donated to the kickstarter. And Matt Fortey, a man who thinks the made Clinton sick using his mind.

This is a pretty good description of the founder of The Red Pill, who has now thankfully resigned as a state senator but who implied that rape isn't an absolute bad, because the rapist enjoys it. www.wehuntedthemammoth.com/2017/04/25/the-daily-beast-takes-on-the-creepy-republican-politician-who-founded-the-red-pill-subreddit/

Do you think it should be banned, (as in parts of Australia following a campaign) or should people be able to go and see it and make up their own mind?

PoochSmooch · 18/05/2017 11:40

No, I wouldn't be in favour of it being banned. I much prefer letting these idiots say their pieces in public so we can all understand where they're coming from.

Xenophile · 18/05/2017 11:53

No, not in favour of it being banned. I'm all for these men being exposed for the assholes they are, even better when they do it with their own words.

AssassinatedBeauty · 18/05/2017 12:25

No it shouldn't be banned, I don't agree with what these people are saying but that doesn't mean they don't get to express their views. Let their views stand or fall on their own merits.
