Transgender child rapist moved to women's prison during his sentence

Another day, another fucked up absurd transgender story.

www.thesun.co.uk/news/3137217/victims-fury-as-double-rapist-who-attacked-two-young-girls-is-moved-to-a-women-only-jail-after-10k-nhs-sex-change-op/

"A DOUBLE rapist who had a £10,000 NHS sex change in prison has been moved to a women’s jail.

Jessica Winfield, born Martin Ponting, attacked two girls and is now in HMP Bronzefield, Surrey."

"But prison bosses have been hit with a backlash from female inmates — with one even threatening to self-harm to get away from Winfield."

"The woman bravely visited her abuser five years ago in prison as part of a bid to get closure. But she was stunned to see the man who attacked her dressed as a woman. She said: “I had no idea what was going on. He was sat there wearing a wig and make-up. He had boobs.”"

Winfield’s brother Nigel, 49, told The Sun: “The best they could do is throw away the key. He is a menace to the public and people need to be warned about him.”

Inneed I think they're entitled to it under human rights laws.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 22/03/2017 10:54

Human Rights are men's rights. Well that's a blanket statement, but I'm always conscious how HR docs rarely require the state to provide a safe environment for women, free of violence.

WoodPigeonInFlight · 22/03/2017 12:11

They may be legally entitled and the NHS may have a policy about funding trans operations BUT there are a lot of decisions being made in the NHS about funding priorities. People are having their cancer operations cancelled due to lack of facilities. Someone, somewhere, or presumably a whole bunch of people, as these type of decisions don't get made by individuals, has prioritised this man's op over cancer treatment and other essential, life saving treatments. Sickening.

Beachcomber, when a transgender man kills a woman in a prison or a refuge, a lot of the reporting will be "Woman murders woman in refuge".

Crime rates for violence by men against women will drop. That's inevitable. And we will see a corresponding rise in violence perpetrated by 'women' (who were actually born male when you look into it).

And then we will see that overall violence against women is actually up because sexual predators will have more access to vulnerable women than they ever have before.

We are giving sexual predators and violent men the green light to abuse women further. A prison sentence will no longer be a punishment - it will be an opportunity for them to continue abusing. And the women inside cannot get away.

WoodPigeonInFlight · 22/03/2017 12:42

Absolutely, and the Women and Equalities Committee of MP's report on Transgender Equality goes on and on about the difficulty of collecting data on trans people at present, and then makes a load of recommendations which would make it virtually impossible to collect any data, because once you became a transwoman you would - legally- be a woman.

Another day - another transgender murderer that I didn't know about.

This is an article from 1999 about prisoners who won the right to have sex change operations.

link

The article covers John Pilley who was the first (and reportedly now wants to change back to being a man), but also mentions Douglas Wakefield. This is an update on Douglas Wakefield.

link here

He murdered two people, had sex change in prison, got transferred to a woman's prison, had a civil partnership with a woman prisoner IN THE SAME WOMEN'S FUCKING PRISON.

I noticed that Wakefield changed his name to Tai Pilley.

As stated above, the first transgender person to have the sex change operation was John Pilley. Wonder if there is any link with the surname?

At times I seriously fantasise about a mass protest of born women identifying as men since the term 'woman' has been distorted beyond all recognition and is so clearly second best.

We shall be expanding the bandwidth of what it means to be a man, so urinals will clearly have to go as insulting to men who don't pee standing up, likewise missing the bowl is completely unacceptable as it reminds some men how they can't pee standing up, so all men should have to pee sitting down, in cubicles. With pot pourri. Football and rugby teams will obviously have to be fully reconfigured to be inclusive and properly representative of all men, not just cis men. Likewise all government departments, high powered jobs etc. Immediate equal pay and tax free sanpro goes without saying.

I've been thinking exactly the same Grin - I'm in if it comes to it.

WoodPigeonInFlight · 22/03/2017 20:00

Sorry, my grin looks a bit inappropriate given the title of this thread. Apologies.

Laurapalmer90 · 22/03/2017 20:31

Wtf?? How is this being allowed to happen? Is it even legal?

And the talk about his rights, um what about the rights of his victims? What about all the suffering they've gone through?

I'm so so tired and angry over this whole issue. The world is going mad and more and more, women are the ones losing out. I don't understand why it's women who keep having to be accommodating. Why there can't be compromises i.e. separate prison wings for transwomen, for example. Why is it considered ok to put women's safety and our lives at risk?

I'm in. Maybe then men will wake up.

PencilsInSpace · 22/03/2017 20:56

Yeah I've had that fantasy too. In my mind we do it in summer so we can wander round without shirts. I am so getting a smart haircut for £5.50 too.

We couldn't do it though. It would hurt actual transmen who are overwhelmingly, IME, troubled women with painful pasts. I don't give a shit about upsetting the AGP blokes who are trying to muscle in on women & girls' spaces but there are a lot of other groups of trans people (who the AGP blokes are totally using for their own ends), who are just muddling through in a fucked up society, like the rest of us.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 23/03/2017 09:11

My friend had this fantasy about buying a realistic looking dildo and putting it in front of her every time she spoke in a meeting, with a sign saying 'I have a dick and therefore the right to be listened to.

Datun · 23/03/2017 09:50

YetAnotherSpartacus

I really like that. Cos it's funny, shocking AND true.

7Days · 23/03/2017 09:53

Maybe they dont want to spend the money on trans facilities in prison because they know that as soon as it's available there will be very little demand

rumblingDMexploitingbstds · 23/03/2017 13:37

There absolutely should be a properly resourced, safe, separate prison facility for trans prisoners. If that also helps to sort those with genuine need from the ones trying it then that's money well spent in all ways.
