I think this blogpost is a good example of a feminist waking up to "peak trans" and the penny starting to drop. The author ( vonny moyes) is a journalist and I follow her on twitter and reading between the lines she has wandered into "TERF" territory for writing about biological facts in her columns.

That was very interesting, especially the comments. You can almost see the cogs moving and the pieces of the puzzle just slowly beginning to take shape.

I found this on Facebook amongst the many comments on a pro Trans post a young female friend had liked (I also braved my first public Terfy comment!) debuk.wordpress.com/2015/05/16/call-me-woman/. it is a nice simple blog post about feminist language.

Datun I just hope the dissenting voices can be heard and together gather momentum. Moyes gets heaps of abuse on twitter ( she was trolled after some nude pictures of her were circulated online) so has a pretty thick skin and as far as I can tell she hasn't had a backlash for writing this in her blog. If she can write like this for one of her news articles it would be great just to gradually plant the seeds of doubt in people's minds about denying biological facts.

I was disappointed to see yet another pro-choice site I like getting invaded by the trans cult. A letter by a trans man telling us that we need to include "him" in our language because "he" once thought "he" was pregnant long ago. Cue lots of earnest fawning from women who assure "him" they'll watch their pronouns.

Can women not see what's happening here? Transwomen (men) telling us not to talk about our bodies because it excludes them -like the pussy hats debacle. And transmen (women who want to be men) telling us we have to modify our language around birth and qualify or erase the words "woman" and "mother" because of the 0.00003% of biological women who give birth despite "identifying" as men.

Is any of this shit happening to men?

I have given birth to babies, I am a woman, a mother and I won't modify my pronouns in the slightest. Men can't have babies. Just fuck off and leave us alone.

There are so many women who are giving me my voice. And in the current climate, they are very brave in helping me and millions of other women do that.

Yes, shins, you've said it perfectly. The demands are bizarre, and erase the basis of our very being.

I also think your words "this shit" and "fuck off" are also perfect. Sometimes language like that is needed to express the anger that's growing in women as we see our hard-fought-for rights being battered and trampled on.

Do you think there are more dissenting voices generally? I see a lot online, but I can't tell whether it's because I'm being given those links on here. Or whether it's a general feeling.

The only temperature check I have is the number of people who have changed their minds through reading these threads. So many have said they started as allies and are now critical purely through reading the information.

Datun, I've noticed the Guardian has got more gender critical lately whereas a year ago it was full transborg. You saw from the huge number of comments they used to delete that most people didn't agree with their former stance, esp. on the bathroom issue. I think if you had a vote: do women want any man in the bathroom who declares himself female, the answer would be a huge no.

I still totally failed to understand Maria Millers disconnect over all this.

If you asked people I think they would say no. Most people. But she evidently doesn't. Why is she be pushing through such an unpopular issue?

Most of the comments were spot on aswell " Ask yourself this: do men’s healthcare campaigns state that not only men get prostate cancer? And if not, why?" - This is exactly right and sums up my feelings pretty well. Why is it only women who are being systematically silenced whenever we speak about biology or anything pertaining to womanhood.

I can't assess it properly as beyond my echo chamber. However, this time last year I wasn't really where I am now with the whole issue and now that I can see the erasure of woman happening I try to spread the word, as it were.
