We all stay together is a youth hostel. We have meals together and chat and go for walks. Just generally chill out with some interesting women. I'd recommend it Smile

brasty · 16/02/2017 18:25

The link says they take over the youth hostel. So there are no other groups staying there. And it is only £45, including all food.

It's very friendlyIfitquacks
I didn't know anyone my first time (except for online)

brasty · 16/02/2017 18:58

Yes it is scary going to things like this the first time. But I saw a woman on face book offering to chat to anyone interested in coming, but who was nervous.

I'd love to go and I don't have the kids that weekend ....

SpartyMcsparticus · 16/02/2017 19:37

I'm also hoping to go and won't know anyone!!!!! Really excited though.

shortwriter · 16/02/2017 19:39

I went 2 years ago and will be going this year.
I really enjoyed myself and am so looking forward to it. It's such a lovely environment and despite some anxiety due to being around lots of people I didn't want to come home last time!

I can answer questions if anyone has any.

Bettydownthehall · 17/02/2017 08:03

I know it says children (girls) are welcome, but so many people bring their children?

Also this might be a bit short notice this time, are there any dates for the future?

Twogoats · 17/02/2017 13:33

Is there security in case any extremist trans people turn up?

unlimiteddilutingjuice · 17/02/2017 14:31

I brought kids when I went but my wee boy has aged out of radfem event now. Its a bittersweet milestone Grin
He used to fit into the palm of my hand....

exWifebeginsat40 · 17/02/2017 14:35

twogoats i think you might need to go outside for a bit.

shortwriter · 17/02/2017 14:55

Betty, I have chosen not to bring my 10yr old daughter. Last time I was there there were 3 kids under 5. I know I can relax and enjoy myself more without my daughter, but I wouldn't miss it and would bring my dd if needed.

No, there's no security except the security of 40 or so women who won't stand for any shit. There's never been a problem before. In fact eve at conferences where trans have turned up to picket I've never seen more than 2 of them and all they did was hand out fliers and were quite polite with it.

Bettydownthehall · 20/02/2017 18:27

Thank you. I would really like to go but it is too short notice.

GinAndSonic · 20/02/2017 18:44

Oh too short notice but maybe next year!

aquamarina100 · 20/02/2017 19:19

Too short notice for me but definitely will try and get to the next one.
