This is disgusting so if you are of a delicate constitution maybe you want to look away. If you think that sex work can be an empowering choice, maybe you should read on just so you can open your eyes.

I initially named this thread 'when sex work is legal' but actually i'm not sure this even has much to do with it being legal. Who the fuck would even think to do this if they hadn't seen it in porn? So the story is that I browse Reddit and came across This post where a sex worker (somewhere where it is legal) was paid $600 to defecate in another sex worker's mouth (who was also paid $600). This poor woman was desperate for the money and completed the job despite gagging, vomiting and crying.

1. There is no meaningful consent here.
2. That poor woman was no more than a slave. She was degraded, abused and traumatised.
3. What kind of sick man finds this sexy? I want to say a special kind of bastard, but what if he's not? What if he's someone's husband/brother/son (definitely will be at least one of those!) Is this what porn is doing to otherwise decent men?

Anyway, there was no sensible (read feminist) analysis on that thread and I doubt is would be the right place for it anyway so I came on here to vent.

But, yeah, porn probably makes the problem worse by giving men everywhere access to other men's disgusting fantasies and contempt of women, and making them feel validated in their own misogyny.

To those men, sex is all about humiliating women, so this sort of thing is not at all unusual or unexpected. It is what sex is to them. That their penis is somehow stimulated is not the main thing about sex to those men; they could do that themselves.

I find it inappropriate to write "sex worker" in this context. These women were clearly prostituted. let's talk of things as they are, when we are among sensible people.

My DH, sadly long dead, used to have a small collection of porn. It was on video, so very old. It all focused on female pleasure. He had one in which a woman was sitting on one bloke then stood up and stepped over to lower herself on a second bloke. She gave a little spontaneous playful skip as she did so. Sheer joie de vivre. I appreciate how rare this is in porn but this woman genuinely appeared to be having fun.

His collection was small. Had to be. Even in those more innocent times finding porn in which the women weren't being humiliated or faking arousal was an ask. He was a man of his generation, he'd be 63 now, and, yes, he did enjoy porn as long as it had a happy vibe. But he would have been utterly revolted by what's on offer these days. And by the conditions in which it's made. Back in the day actresses in porn made really good money and became famous, so I guess it seemed less exploitative.
