They come up with this.

First post - Why Transwomen Aren't Biologically Male.
www.facebook.com/everydayfeminism/

The comments are encouraging though, that is, the ones that haven't been deleted. Lots of people questioning and calling this out.

This bit is simply wrong. No trumps yes in sexual contexts. It doesn't matter whether the person saying no is saying so for reasons the other person accepts as good ones, or dismisses as bigoted ones - it is not their call. Anything short of informed consent is not consent.

"Recent ‘sex by deception’ cases involving trans people and gender identity issues have revealed an alarming lack of
clarity around the rights of trans people and any obligations to disclose their trans history to their sexual partners.
These cases demonstrate that it is possible for non-disclosure of a person’s trans status to impair the validity of
consent. This leaves a great many trans individuals at risk of prosecution under the Sexual Offences Act 2003. It
is, however, still unclear as to whether the courts regard this to be the case for a trans person who has undergone
medical transition, and it is further greyed by whether or not an individual can be defined as trans, based on their
appearance, by the court. Clarity is urgently needed."

Sounds like they consider it an urgent issue to work on how to protect rapists.

Fucking arseholes.

DeviTheGaelet · 15/02/2017 21:29

". The right of trans athletes, particularly trans women, to actively
participate in fair competition at every level of sport, often finds itself under
scrutiny from fellow athletes and governing bodies"
What does this mean?

venusinscorpio · 15/02/2017 21:43

I'd be interested as to what they consider "fair" competition. I doubt it's the same idea as most people would have.

AskBasil · 15/02/2017 21:59

Devi - it means those pesky women still won't STFU, with their questions.

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 15/02/2017 22:29

Sorry, changing the subject slightly

Got home from the pub and apparently dh has been talking to ds1 and 2 and dd about feminism

So far so good

Apparently ds2 has 2 facts from the internet...fuck knows what he has been looking at Hmm

the only fact dh and ds1 can remember is that more men are raped than women Hmm

Now ds2 has been told by both dh and ds1 that that is bollocks...but i need to see what websites my youngest has been looking at

I know that the statistic has been quoted on here before...can anyone remember where before i go trawling

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 15/02/2017 22:30

Actually i have changed the subject massively

To be fair

MorrisZapp · 15/02/2017 22:35

That urban dictionary :)

Stonewall can fuck right off. Consent needs urgent clarification does it? Maybe they could urgently clarify how transwomen are to take part in appropriately competitive sport.

MorrisZapp · 15/02/2017 22:37

I love EF being classified as a comedy website. I laughed out loud at an article stating that fat feminists aren't fat enough (erasing /shaming the truly fat) and that weight loss is racist.

ErrolTheDragon · 15/02/2017 22:53

People like Ralph Knibbs?

Twunk · 15/02/2017 23:37

Love the definition! Perfect Grin

MiddleGround · 15/02/2017 23:51

A thoughtful video highlighting some concerns?

YetAnotherSpartacus · 16/02/2017 00:15

the only fact dh and ds1 can remember is that more men are raped than women

I got confused re who was looking at / thinking what from all that ... but what planet is the rest of your family living on?

ErrolTheDragon · 16/02/2017 00:19

I read it as her ds2 had been reading various shite, the only specific her ds1 and dh could remember was that gem but they had put him straight. So its just the one on planet gullible teen, i think.

themidwife · 16/02/2017 00:46

FFS this is the kind of crap my ex is spouting about his sudden realisation that he is a transgender woman and "asserts his right not to hide to protect his children from discrimination". You may now call yourself Jennifer but your DNA is male! Even if you have breast implants, remove your male genitals, body hair, the lot, your DNA is still male. You are transgender. You are NOT a woman!!!!

DeviTheGaelet · 16/02/2017 07:58

rufus I've got a feeling that may be true if you include prison rapes. So the people doing the raping are still the same in the main.

Found a link www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/cifamerica/2012/feb/21/us-more-men-raped-than-women

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 16/02/2017 08:13

Thanks devi

I found that link as well

Appears to be a one off survay which included sexual assault in the prison figure of 216k but not in the female figure of 90k Confused as well as a few other differences

I have explained to ds2 (poor little sod, first thing in the morning) he thinks he got it from someone at school, i am just hoping that it wasnt in his personal development class

Now i have manged to confuse him about drunk sex being rape....its early for me as well

Dont worry yet he was picked up on that one immediately Grin

Aliasnumberone · 16/02/2017 09:11

rufus Just remind him that rape as defined by the word of the law is penetration by a penis where the recipient has not given consent. This is important because only male bodies can have penises and therefore only men can be rapists, sexual assault has a different definition, penetration by an object is as equally horrific and traumatic for anyone but the important distinction is that no one can ever get pregnant from a sexual assault where a penis isn't forced onto to female vagina. The lib fems and TRAs are arguing to change these distinctions and it will serve to further erase the fact that women are and have been historically oppressed because of and for their reproductive capacity.

Most importantly though, rape and sexual assault are both horrific and overwhelmingly commuted by men and down to male pattern violence which is socialised, porn culture and male supremacy have a lot to answer for.

MercyMyJewels · 16/02/2017 09:24

Mirror

Awesome work Grin

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 16/02/2017 09:28

Thanks alias

He is a young 13 and was struggling with "is it always rape if the girl is drunk...what if the boy is drunk as well" so he thought that if you have sex if the girl is drunk then its automatically rape...when loads of people have drunken consensual sex.

It was too early in the morning for me so i clarified it as much as i could ....in that it has to be an enthusiastic yes and it would be much better for him not to get drunk and have sex with a drunk girl

Will clarify it more over the next few days

ErrolTheDragon · 16/02/2017 09:38

Probably better he errs on that side of it than the other, and maybe add that drunken sex is more likely to be irresponsible sex?

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 16/02/2017 13:03

Thats true errol

Redrocketship · 16/02/2017 16:30

". The right of trans athletes, particularly trans women, to actively
participate in fair competition at every level of sport, often finds itself under

oh fuck off, what about the rights of female athletes to "fair competition" ie- to not be forced to compete against biological males, who possess all the athletic advantages of their sex.

BenLinusatemyhomework · 16/02/2017 16:50

They already can compete fairly at every level... In the male category. If taking hormones puts them at a disadvantage well that's a choice they need to weigh up when making that decision to take them. Athletes have to make all sorts of sacrifices and compromises to compete at top levels, this is no different. They can socially transition in the mean time.

It's only female athletes who are going to be affected by this as transmen who could get into the top tiers of male athletic prowess will be as rare as hens teeth.

Bambambini · 16/02/2017 18:21

There is a Transwomen cycle team competing in the US. Will bevinteresting to see how it developes.
