Feminazi...

How upset are you when you are called a feminazi? And why?

For me, the insult to me is almost always water off a duck's back. I just hate the underthinking misappropriation of Nazi. It's like breadtapo...............

"Someone on another thread has just advocated the extermination off all men as they are just sub-human peices of meat!"

Wow, really?????? Where?

Incidentally, do you automatically opt out of any movement when somebody claiming to be a member of it says something batshit? Presumably that means you can't be a member any political party, church, club, organization, movement, cause, union, pressure group......?

Thank God!

BertrandRussell · 09/02/2017 13:52

You didn't genuinely think that was serious, did you?Hmm

"But one of many tedious, boring, ignorant goady fuckers who are trolling this board"

There, that's even better :)

M0stlyBowlingHedgehog · 09/02/2017 14:07

Does anyone else spy any signs of yet another "me-rail" going on?

AssassinatedBeauty · 09/02/2017 14:07

Tedious and ignorant are both excellent words.

BertrandRussell · 09/02/2017 14:19

Another thread where anti feminists can see things that nobody else can...........

Since it is used as a slur and ad hominem, in other words they are trying to offend, I wonder if some people might actually like it better if the person they say it to is Jewish. Gives an extra added zing

Probably, yeah.

Stupid me for somewhat expecting that a misogynist would not also hate Jews. Now that you mention it, it is kinda obvious.

I suppose I was misled by the fact that antisemitism is seen as less acceptable in Germany than misogyny - but I suppose if you add some misogyny, that also makes antisemitism more palatable to the masses.

(Being female seems to automatically invalidate any medals won in the oppression olympics, and any right of protection that comes with winning them. Kinda like the transwacktivists claiming to be feminist but not worrying at all about threatening rape and murder to actually female radical feminists.)

BertrandRussell · 09/02/2017 14:42

"'What is an extreme feminist' a feminist that feel so strongly of her view that she descrimates against men."

Ah. Not actually a feminist, then. What with feminists wanting equality and all.

OP posts:
TheVermiciousKnid · 09/02/2017 14:45

feminist that feel so strongly of her view that she descrimates against men

By that logic there are an awful lot of masculnazis / malenazis / whatever out there, what with all the (actual) discrimination against women...

Ah Urban Dictionary, a fountain of sense and clarity.

TheVermiciousKnid · 09/02/2017 14:56

I think most people would agree that it's used to insult. Plenty of people seem to use it against any woman who shows even the slightest allegiance with feminist ideas. It's meant to insult and silence women.

Our definitions of what is 'extreme' are different though, I assume. And your explanation of the origin of the suffix -nazi is still wrong.

Of course "fenaminazi" or feminazi is used to insult and try to derail debate with personal attack. It's an inane thing to call someone. What is your point?

VestalVirgin · 09/02/2017 15:11

Well, that's what "feminazi" is for, isn't it? To argue that wanting equal rights for women is an "extreme" position, that nicely asking men to please stop the oppression is the same as genoicde.

@TheVermiciousKnid: I don't think you need to put a male- in front of the ordinary nazis. There is not much of a difference, if any, between masculists and actual nazis.
Some masculists might not be racists, but actual nazis are always misogynists, it is part of the ideology and one I wager the ideology cannot exist without.
