Anyone seen Hidden Figures?

I want to take DD who is six. Because women, scientists, space, STEM and all that. But the BBFC didn't really enlighten me.

We've been reading the series with Rosie Revere, Engineer and she loves them so I thought it was a good fit.

If anyone has seen it, good for a six year old? Too slow or inappropriate?

I too would be interested to know this - I have an 8 year old, and want to know whether to get a babysitter!

Found one of the teachers at DS's school who's seen it on a special preview. She said it was fantastic but probably would come across as a bit too slow moving for a small child. Though DS has offered to cut me a deal - he'll sit through Hidden Figures if I'll sit through Sing!

Good deal! DD liked Sing. I'll go on my own! More popcorn that way!

Absolutely loved this film. I want to watch it again tomorrow! My daughters and niece all enjoyed it too. Youngest is 12 and wants to work for NASA. It may be a bit old for anyone under 10 just because of the complexity of the work these amazing ladies were doing. It has to be on every self respecting feminist's must see list though. Wonderful.

Venusflytwat · 18/02/2017 23:09

It's an incredible film. But I think too old for a 6 year old.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 18/02/2017 23:11

Good film but 6 and 8 imo are too young.

oneohfivethreeeight · 20/02/2017 01:39

I think a 6 y o would find it very dull.

oneohfivethreeeight · 20/02/2017 01:40

I'd say it's for ages 11 and up (I.e. at secondary school).

Coincidently, a girlfriend of mine has just urged me to see it after she saw it with her 13-year-old daughter. She said I would love it and was waxing lyrical.

I'm taking mine (10&13). Common sense media says 10+ but they don't say its inappropriate for younger children, just it might be a bit slow.
