I know you get a lot of stick on MN at times, and people can get a bit aggressive and ranty about what does/doesn't should/shouldn't matter.

I have learned loads and had my eyes opened to things I wasn't aware of by reading these threads, so thank you. I have been educated and changed my attitude to some issues.

I'm not always going to agree with all feminists about every issue, and I feel less strongly about many things, but I'm so glad you are here, having the conversations, thrashing things out.

I agree with you. I love reading this board, not only because I agree with many things but also because it challenges my thinking on others.
I know what I think but I like to be open to new ideas.

I tend to lurk...or just make flippant comments but i have learnt a lot from this board and mumsnet as a whole

I think what I like about this board is that you can be robust - that there are other, similarly robust people who have some differing opinions, and will defend them eloquently - and sometimes they persuade me, and sometimes I go away shaking my head, but we all come back and talk about another thing another day, and perhaps this time we'll agree from the off about the new subject, perhaps we won't but we'll all think about the issue and give our opinion.

The rest of the boards, well, I came here about 7 years ago, and haven't left, so they're entertaining, useful, and make me feel useful sometimes. FWR makes me think though, and I really enjoy that.

Feminism section used to be named Feminism/Women's Rights; MN changed it, not sure why.

I owe FWR so much. When I first joined I was arguing that I wasn't a feminist because I wanted equality for both sexes, and that choice was the most important thing.

Thank you for opening my eyes, and teaching me so much. There are some incredible women in here, with so much patience and knowledge.

I'm sometimes a little sad that the discussion is confined to its niche board, though.

I agree, and have often thought of starting this thread but didn't know how to put it into words.

Along with several other specific topics, FWR has taught me a lot, and is still teaching me. I recognise a lot of the issues around me now, and challenge people when they use them.

I lurk a lot too. And only post when I have complete conviction in my viewpoint.

My beliefs are becomIng progressively more concrete as I read the different threads. I didn't realise quite how much I cared about women until I discovered FWR.

So yeah, a thanks from me too.

Thanks from me too! I won't name check either but some posters really do stand out (everyone namechanges anyway which is a bit confusing )

I even thank the disagreeable ones on here, MRAs and stuff. They all help question the world we live in. The MRA arguments I (weirdly) find really useful because the feminists on here retaliate with actual facts etc and it all just furthers my conviction.

It's nice to see decent blokes joining in for a bit of feminist chat too so thanks there!

Yeah thanks for me too. I feel like this forum is a little pub I visit everyday, I mostly don't socialise but always feel at home.

I made a rant thread about Melvyn Bragg the other day. It was nice, I was just at a point where I needed to rant. It only got a few responses and most of those disagreed with me but nobody made me feel daft or defensive. The internet in general is mostly hostile and forums and messageboards are often cliquey so this board is a refreshing change.

I am a massive lurker but thanks from me too. When something awful happens and I feel like I'm against the world/what's the point I come on here and see someone has posted about it, but more articulately (is that even a word?!) than I ever could and it's so reassuring.
