Grin at transwomen are women, get some perspective.

This thread is unintentionally hilarious. I can't help but laugh.

Anyone else get anything to say about getting perspective about how men are really women?

Here we go, I'll try.

Men are deffo women if they want to be. End of!!!

Any good? It is perhaps a bit more highbrow than the attempts of others but I think it conveys the message well.

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 11/11/2016 14:20

I think OP is right. A transwoman will get there before a woman.

I'd like to know why you seem to think transwomen have some kind of advantage over "real" women and what evidence there is for that?

Surely we have more important things to worry about than the existence of people who want to change gender, for whatever reason? (I notice nobody really cares about FTM trans people)

Kidnapped · 11/11/2016 14:29

What on earth is transphobic about this thread?

Does transphobic actually mean mentioning transsexual now?

DeviTheGaelet · 11/11/2016 14:30

If you call yourself a woman, that's enough for me. Caring so much about what's between people's legs is kind of what misogynists do....

Did I mention what's between people's legs?
I don't get how you can have a label with no description. Makes no sense.
Might as well say I'm a snurkle.

BeyondReasonablyDoubts · 11/11/2016 14:31

Seems so, kidnapped...

Today I identify as HMRC. Please all send me 25% of your earnings everyone, or you all are a bunch of bigots

originalmavis · 11/11/2016 14:33

I'm thinking an oompa loompa will be president before... oh hang on...

Kidnapped · 11/11/2016 14:41

"(I notice nobody really cares about FTM trans people)".

Have a tiny think about why that is, Yellow.

Do you think that a female prisoner should have to share a cell with a convicted rapist?

What about hospitals? Do you think that female wards should include those men who want to stay on a female ward rather than a male one?

What about sport? Do you think that people who are born as men should be winning all the female races?

If the answer to any of these questions is no, then why not?

Jinglebellsandv0dka · 11/11/2016 14:43

If I call myself a zebra am i zebra?? Could some one fly me to the plains of Africa to run free!

Trans women are not womenz, their DNA says so - (never mind about the cock they were born with) It's science init!

Jinglebellsandv0dka · 11/11/2016 14:49

I don't think it's a case of nobody caring about FTM - I just don't think they get anywhere to start making people uncomfortable:

Would a FTM be chosen for track running in sports - no.

Would FTM be put in a males prison - no because of risk of rape/sexusl assault

So it's kind of always women that get pushed to one side - that's why women get pissed off with it.

Yellowrose87 · 11/11/2016 14:53

I'm sure there's more to it than "hmm I think I'll be the opposite gender today, just for a laugh" but why does it matter?

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm worried about violence towards women, equal pay, reproductive rights being eroded.... it's not transwomen doing this!

Yellowrose87 · 11/11/2016 15:04

Sorry just saw Kidnapped's post.

Women should be in women's prisons. A transwoman is in far more danger being in a male prison.

I would have no problem sharing a hospital ward with a transwoman, I'd probably be more concerned about getting better, and would probably never know anyway.

Sport is a difficult one, some biological women naturally have high levels of testosterone, wasn't there a case recently? Can't remember the woman's name but she basically had to prove she wasn't a man...

BeyondReasonablyDoubts · 11/11/2016 15:16

Paedophiles are in danger in male estate, should they be transferred to female too?
(And no, I am not saying transpeople are paedophiles, before that gem pops up)

Jinglebellsandv0dka · 11/11/2016 15:17

I'm sure there's more to it than "hmm I think I'll be the opposite gender today, just for a laugh" but why does it matter?

Yes of course. For genuine trans the whole process must be hidious and isolating. But they are not biologically women. It's a lie to call them that. Science tells us they are not women. So we shouldn't pretend they are. Because that's what we are doing- pretending. And I don't want to pretend that a mtf is a biological women and I don't want to lie to my daughters either. And because they are not biological women they shouldn't be given biological women spaces or opportunities because what about the real biological women who need them.

Should mtf play sports on women's teams - no. Because it's not bloody fair. They are not women.

Now - if it becomes so easy that being a women is based on purely word of mouth and his that person feels at that time - do you not think that some men will and do take advantage of that.

venusinscorpio · 11/11/2016 15:25

Of course it matters, Yellowrose. It matters to many women whether men are allowed into female sex-segregated spaces. It matters whether women should have their rights respected. You've clearly given this around 10 seconds thought.

VincentVL · 11/11/2016 15:33

I'm sure there's more to it than "hmm I think I'll be the opposite gender today

lol someone hasnt been introduced to nonbinary tumblr/youtube..

Yellowrose87 · 11/11/2016 15:35

I care very much about my rights as a woman, and have given it plenty of thought, thanks. This whole trans issue is a distraction. Once again it pits women against each other when we have real problems to worry about. Transwomen are really suffering out there and it is getting worse, (yes I know they aren't the only ones) they just want to survive, not "infiltrate women's spaces".

Kidnapped · 11/11/2016 15:35

"A transwoman is in far more danger being in a male prison"

Yellow, and what about the actual women in a women's prison? What about the dangers they face? You genuinely think that they should have a convicted rapist in with them because the rapist might be in danger from other men?

And if you are saying that men in prison are a danger to vulnerable prisoners, then surely the women are in danger from a man in their own prison? Your point was all about making it better for the transgender person and not even considering how this further disadvantages women. That is very telling about your mindset.

Yellow, this man is alleged to have raped two women. He started to identify as a woman only after he was remanded in custody.

link

And you are saying that transgender people pose no risk to women.

You are in favour of completely mixed hospital wards? Well, that is an unusual stance. The NHS is under great pressure to get rid of them (except for critical care of course).

The sport one is not difficult. At all.

venusinscorpio · 11/11/2016 15:42

It's really not a distraction, it's important. Don't tell me how I'm allowed to do feminism. Transwomen are male and their problems have little in common with women's. Women are entitled to not want men in their spaces.

Yellowrose87 · 11/11/2016 15:47

"They have also pointed out that, unlike other transgender inmates who have been held within the Scottish prison system, Herschell has never previously lived as a female." sounds like an unusual case, would be interested in a follow up. Also says he is being segregated from other prisoners for the time being...

Of course an individual trans person could harm someone, not saying they are all perfect.

I didn't say I was in favour of mixed wards, I'd be happy to share with a transwoman, because they are women...

venusinscorpio · 11/11/2016 15:50

Why do you think they are women? Where is the cut off, or don't you have one?

ErrolTheDragon · 11/11/2016 15:51

Going back to the OP... given that a lot of the sexist rejection of Hillary arose from the misogyny of conservative christianity, it's hard to tell what would happen to a trans candidate, because I don't think either Jesus or Paul had anything to say about transgenderism. If MTTs achieve their aim of being accepted as being actual women then their place would be subservient to men, wouldn't it?

TBH I don't think the US will have anything other than a straight gender-conforming man as president for decades.

Yellowrose87 · 11/11/2016 15:55

Am I supposed to ask to see someone's birth certificate, Venus? Medical records, maybe, before I except them as a woman?

AVirginLitTheCandle · 11/11/2016 15:56

because they are women...

No they're not.

They might think* that they are a woman. They may want^ to be a woman. However neither of these things mean they actually are a woman.

I could decide tomorrow that I'm going to identify as a flying pink sparkly unicorn. However just because I think I'm a flying pink sparkly unicorn doesn't mean I actually am one.
