Hi I'm just a man how is wondering what feminists really want?

What are you fighting for or against in this day and age?

Ok So how about the legal system. Men are something like 8 time more likely to go to jail for the same convictions as a woman with the same criminal record. Family courts where 95% of the time a woman is give custody just because she's a woman. The stereotyping of men to be tough show no emotion and just grin and bear what ever thrown at them without complaining or the fact the 40% of domestic violence is towards men but isn't taken seriously and there is very little support for them. Where as the most I've have on this is vague references to the end of patriarchy and stereotypes towards woman and equal opportunity with no specifics just broad strokes right across the board

Ooh, I remember this one from A-level English. It's "maestrie". Can I have a point?

BeMorePanda · 22/10/2016 00:14

Sorry Xen. I wasted the other 2 on the DC

Nrdad1 · 22/10/2016 00:15

BIWI · 22/10/2016 00:15

Hah! The MRA mask is slipping ...

Not true! I offered you a creme egg.

IceBeing · 22/10/2016 00:16

what are stereotypes? let me google that for you.....no wait, what?

I would settle for gender equality in children's advertising. If you must advertise plastic tat in the form of dart guns or cars or remote controlled helicopters, then you have to show said tat being played with by both boys and girls. If you have to advertise plastic tat in the form of toy vacuum cleaners, or kitchen sets, or 'everyone wants to look their best for the ball' castles then you show said tat being played with by both boys and girls.

Curses Panda!

And I've got my jimmies on so cba to go across to the garage.

Magnums aren't for children or men they can have mini milks and like them.

EnthusiasmDisturbed · 22/10/2016 00:16

So he has been doing some reading ....

Nrdad1 · 22/10/2016 00:17

So BIWI what does MRA stand for?

OP posts:
ageingrunner · 22/10/2016 00:18

The 40% domestic violence towards men thing isn't true

DoYouRememberJustinBobby · 22/10/2016 00:19

Ahaha the sheer arrogance. Hmm
I'm sitting an exam in December, I won't bother to read the great wealth of materials on the subject but just turn up at the examiner's house and demand to know wtf they want and why. Then I can tell them what I think about the topic when I'm in the pub.

If you've got 2 snails, a 100m race and one gets a 2000 year head start where's the equality? That poor bastard snail crossing the finishing line and leaving is trail everywhere just really needs another break, huh?

Someone pass a Crunchie.

Xenophile · 22/10/2016 00:19

Oh, I'm not sure OP has anything but a passing acquaintance with truth. MREs rarely do.

EnthusiasmDisturbed · 22/10/2016 00:19

I wonder how quickly the link will be posted ...

Nrdad1 · 22/10/2016 00:19

I know alittle bit about feminism but you telling me to Google everything just make me think you know about as much as me and can't speak for yourself

OP posts:
IceBeing · 22/10/2016 00:20

in the role I work in women are paid less, are less likely to be promoted, or less likely to get funding and are more likely to get negative performance reviews from students all because society doesn't think women are as good at physics as men....because of stereotyping.

twopointfourfamily · 22/10/2016 00:20

I'm not a feminist. I'm quite happy with the way the world is for woman and believe things are about equal already, but quite honestly OP you aren't coming across well.

Terrifiedandregretful · 22/10/2016 00:20

Why don't you get together with other men to set up shelters for male victims of DV OP? That might be a more worthwhile way of spending your time.

BIWI · 22/10/2016 00:21

Then you're pretty stupid, aren't you?

I'm not going to tell you what MRA stands for, as I have a pretty shrewd idea you know very well what it stands for. And if you don't - well, there's this pretty cool invention called the internet

I'm sure you can work it out for yourself, without needing a mere woman to help you.

TwentyCups · 22/10/2016 00:21

you want to know what feminists want?

go read the 'why I didn't report' thread.

I want none of that to happen to another woman ever again.

If I can't have that, I at least want women to have the ability to report the crime in confidence that they will be believed.

There are literally thousands of posts on this forum explaining how we feel, and what we want. So, if you're interested go read them and educate yourself.

It seems more like you're just a goady fucker.

twopointfourfamily · 22/10/2016 00:21

I suspect the OP is trying to goad posters into a state of hypocrisy

Xenophile · 22/10/2016 00:22

I know alittle bit about feminism but you telling me to Google everything just make me think you know about as much as me and can't speak for yourself

If it makes you feel better to think that, then you are terribly welcome to go ahead and do so.

Elsewhere would be delightful, thanks awfully.

twopointfourfamily · 22/10/2016 00:22

Aren't we mixing up sexual assault and feminism here

Nrdad1 · 22/10/2016 00:22

Ok So if there's not a sexist toward domestic violence and child custody. If a man hits his partner and they split does the child go with the man?
