I suspect I've found his email address and place of work, I can't be too sure though as only going off a username so don't want to get some poor innocent fella into trouble! If it's him he is in America, is there any point reporting it as a crime here then? Would anything actually happen?

A chap I've been on a few dates with and slept with once or twice went on holiday and proceeded to send me a dick pick with the caption "miss me?"

I was in a pub once and overheard this:

"I was ironing and this bloke came out of one of the bedrooms half dressed, walked over, and without a word, plonked his stiffy on my ironing board."

"So what did you do?"

"I ironed it."

This is an interesting perspective. Basically, that these men would like women to send explicit pictures too and can't get their heads around the idea that the recipients have a different viewpoint. Also that they are like toddlers who crave attention and even negative attention is better than nothing.

sentia, that aricle seemed to suggest that reaaaally, some women are just coyly waiting to be asked if they'd like a dick pic, in which case it's a matter of etiquette. Also, that the problem is mostly society's suppression of female sexuality, so if girls could just lighten up a bit and talk to the guys then we could all find a way that guys can carry on doing this but in a socially acceptable way. it's just a miscommunication. Shaming the poor dim boys is wrong.

Yes Hairy I agree with you on the article's undertone that women should learn to be ok with it, I don't agree with that at all.

But men undeniably do this, a lot of them. I absolutely think there are a lot of sexual aggression undertones, but that doesn't seem to fully explain it. Which is why I thought the article was interesting - the point about exhibitionism being more common in more anonymous environments for example.

I think it's about asserting power in most (all?) cases. If it was pure exhibitionism then men would be sending these pics indiscriminately to their mums, MPs, best mates, dads, work colleagues, football team mates, commanding Officers.

As it is, they send them to female strangers.

I wonder if part of it is that they secretly think their dick is sooo special that just showing it to a woman will make her weak with desire.

I did similar with the (luckily) only dick pic I was ever sent. Was off some creepy guy who was apparently trying to impress me. Unfortunately for him..I had the numbers of a few of his friends, who were swiftly forwarded the pic and the sleazy message. No regrets.

The modern day flasher... my mum has told me many a tale of flashers back in her day, I think it's pretty much the same thing, only they have a wider audience and have to do it more to get a response as most women will now just block and report.

I would imagine they do want the reaction of humiliation, disgust or anger they want you to engage and at this point they gain power - much like the flashers (who I'm sure still exist just not so common) of course women shouldn't have to put up with this, but I'm not sure how it could ever be stopped sadly.

I do think this is potentially a different type of person than the type who send it on OLD, that's more - me man, me have penis now you have seen the golden shrine you must want me. Hahahahahaha
