That's probably why I like a bit more colour

They're bloody awful! Primary colours are hardly gendered, are they?
If anything; sludge colours seem more directed at boys than "neutral".

Those are so boring though!

I saw them in store which is why I commented, the knits are as soft as silk, little shoes are real goatskin.

I think the colours reflect that they are organic. Many bright clothes are dyed using synthetic azo dyes which are harmful to the environment.

But then I love neutral colours anyway.

They're horrid. Dull, dull, beige. You can't even bleach them like you could plain white.

I thought they were lovely too... I would have bought them for either of mine and I knew their sex from 13 weeks. Made me a bit broody!

I agree. They are very boring. And of course what I loathe about "gender neutral" it just means "no clothes associated with girls".

May be not hugely relevant at that age group but if I were shopping for a baby girl I'd like to be able to include a dress even at that age.

They are going to be beige if environmentally friendly though. No strong dyes and no bleach.

I thought they were very M&P style too SPB - I think my school are similar age to yours, don't know what m&p clothes have looked like for the last 5 years or so, but I know they got a new designer about 5 years ago, who came from Boden.

H&M are very good at low impact, low cost, gender neutral baby clothes.

But there are no clothes " associated with boys" either. No pastel blue, no t shirts with diggers on them etc.

I would never have put a newborn in a dress, to me comfort is paramount for a baby. Dresses ride up, twist around and are cumbersome when crawling.

I would've loved this option when mine were babies.

Is this that unusual? admittedly I dressed my newborn in plain white babygros mainly, but I didn't find it hard finding gender neutral clothes. I looked in both the boy and girl sections if they divided them. I had a lot with animals on - I don't think a zebra or a duck is particularly associated with either gender. I've found that it does get harder when they get a bit older though.

I don't think it is unusual for high end stores, but nice to see a budget store like Lidl having some forward thinking.

Yes you may well be right on that. I guess I either bought/buy cheap plain things, stuff from charity shops or from higher end shops. The cardigans look nice but I don't have a Lidl near me sadly.

I love them too!! Bought four long sleeved wrap over tops (amazing since he hates getting his clothes on) a lovely cardi with a hood and three pairs of socks for under £12!! I don't care if they're beige, people know my DS is a boy without having to wear blue all of the time! They're also lovely and soft, 100% cotton and will be perfect for the cooler weather coming. Would defo buy again.

I bought a few things for my baby son. They were in boxes so felt I was taking a chance.....but oh wow!!!! The wool is as soft as cashmere and as for how they look - about five times the price at least!! Well done, Lidl!!! ( and hurrah for your cheese twists and Gouda bread too).
