On now, Radio 4, Stephanie Davies Aral is on and they're discussing gender

Bah! Forgot to listen. Thanks for the reminder. Will catch up on iplayer.

IHateDoors · 22/07/2016 14:43

Will be interested to catch this on iplayer later. Thanks for the heads up.

They edited out most of what Stephanie said. Extraordinary bias. But I'm not surprised.

I listened to it. It was very unquestioning any very uncritical.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 23/07/2016 15:09

Just noticed "any" makes no sense in that sentence. Should read "very unquestioning and very uncritical"

There was a lot of the "well (s)he always played with girls'/boys' toys" cited as evidence.

paddypants13 · 23/07/2016 17:19

Thanks for the warning Lass. I'll give it a miss if it's the usual pc nonsense instead of a real debate.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 23/07/2016 17:37

There was no possibility of debate.

It featured the mother of a child who said several times her child would be dead if they had not transitioned. There's not much you can say in response to that which will not sound unsympathetic and theoretical.

AskBasil · 23/07/2016 22:37

Yes, Mariella wasn't asking Stephanie for her opinion, so she had to interrupt and pipe up - and lots of the stuff she said (eg, that we are sterilising children) was just edited out.

Profoundly dishonest BBC editorialising there.

I've stopped watching the BBC news now. The coverage is so biased it's shocking.
