Can't go but wanted to bump the thread - this is a good thing! Glad some mumsnetters will be there. Hope to hear more about it!

singingsixpence82 · 30/05/2016 02:00

The rally is a good thing I mean - not that I can't go!

RonaldMcDonald · 30/05/2016 02:08

I will be on holiday but would love to be there. Behind 100%

singingsixpence82 · 30/05/2016 02:19

Sorry, just laughing hilariously at the thought of RonaldMcDonald at a pro choice rally! Not sure what to make of it! Not sure what the media would make of the photos either!

DailyFailAteMyFish · 11/06/2016 10:41

I'm hoping to go.
In practical terms, what should I bring?

DailyFailAteMyFish · 16/06/2016 21:01

I've just pledged on a great project Rally For Choice @crowdfunderuk Check it out: www.crowdfunder.co.uk/rally-for-choice

FedUpWithBriiiiiick · 30/06/2016 12:34

Just bumping this for the weekend!

OP posts:
Xenophile · 30/06/2016 13:22

Hope you get an enormous turnout for this.

Sirona · 30/06/2016 13:32

I'm going. Had actually thought about posting on here myself to see if anyone else was.

Irish news saying they expect 4000 anti-abortionists marching, I hope there's big numbers on our side too.

Anyone doing a banner or sign? I'm debating what to write.

Sirona · 30/06/2016 13:44

Dailyfail after marching pride last weekend I would say practically just comfortable shoes, raincoat (if needed but who knows here with our weather) and the one thing I stupidly forgot was water. Was parched by the end because of the heat and shouting.

Xenophile · 30/06/2016 15:39

Definitely water and comfy shoes. Walking shoes are great.

Layers, you get hotter or colder depending on how many people are around you as well as the ambient temperature, so being able to put on or take off layers is good.

A pacamac or light raincoat that can be squished into a backpack.

A backpack! Grin

Great tips Sirona and Xeno.

Just wondering if you might get more views if you pop it on chat too briiiick. I know I've read here some people hide the feminism boards. In saying that I shared on facebook and only got two people answering out of 200 odd. Sigh.

DetestableHerytike · 02/07/2016 06:51

Good luck today, sisters in Belfast!

FedUpWithBriiiiiick · 02/07/2016 07:22

Thanks Detestable!

Sirona I was thinking of posting in chat, but to be honest, I didn't want any antis jumping in and turning the thread into a bun fight

So it's at 1pm, Bhoy Park (in front of UUB). The link in my OP seems to be broken so here's a fresh one!

Yes I suppose you're right briiiick

Got my sign made last night Smile Heading up on my own now as my friend has something to do but I'll be there with bells and whistles on.

FedUpWithBriiiiiick · 02/07/2016 11:28

Good on you Sirona! Just about to catch the train myself. Hope the sun comes out!

OP posts:
DailyFailAteMyFish · 02/07/2016 17:57

It was great despitethe rubbish weather!

Sirona · 03/07/2016 11:06

My throat was hoarse last night after all the shouting Smile Was it on the news, I missed it yesterday? Best bit of the day had to be later when I was coming out of Boots and saw yer woman Bernadette being filmed for an interview and shouted 'pro choice' at her. Yes, it's the little things in life that keep me amused. Can't stand her. Loved the people standing on the street that cheered us.

Sirona · 03/07/2016 15:03

bbc news

DailyFailAteMyFish · 03/07/2016 21:28

well done Sirona!

Sirona · 03/07/2016 22:04

I'm actually thinking of joining alliance for choice now. Considered it a while ago after attending a talk with women on waves as speaker but with the dc being so little I didn't have the time. Speaking to dm last night though she said she would help with babysitting, she's as pro choice as myself and would have loved to have walked yesterday only has an injury atm.
