Apologies for the clickbaity thread title, but I wanted you to all guess and then be proved right.

They did a special feature about men, to redress the balance.
York Feminists blog about it here.

BBC radio York, you've let women down, you've let York down, and most of all, you've let yourselves down.

I've complained to the BBC. It would be good if others did too...

AnyFucker · 10/03/2016 12:47

For crying out loud...

WomanWithAltitude · 10/03/2016 12:48

The original twitter post about the show is here btw. Some hilarious comments!

The comments are funny.

What WILL they do on diabetics /epilepsy awareness day?

PurpleDaisies · 10/03/2016 12:51

Oh fgs. This is ridiculous. The bbc has form for this sort of thing...
Anyone remember pandagate?

[Bangs head against wall]

FFS. Because of course women get so much more attention and recognition than men the rest of the time Hmm

OneFlewOverTheDodosNest · 10/03/2016 13:10

Has anyone actually told BBC York that there's an International Men's Day that probably would have been more appropriate for that feature? Or are they planning on celebrating women then instead?

WomanWithAltitude · 10/03/2016 13:20

Clearly not. I'm guessing they've also failed to notice how overrrepresented men are in the media generally.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 10/03/2016 15:13

They do know about Men's Day - it's mentioned in the blog. Apparently we should make more of it.

Has Alan Partridge moved from Radio Norfolk to BBC York?

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 10/03/2016 15:54
Grin It is EXACTLY what Alan would do for IWD, isn't it?

Love the blog post! It was slightly disconcerting that the advert at the bottom, for me, was for the IPL Hair Removal system! But perhaps that helps illustrate the post quite nicely:

Ladies, don't worry about sport, politics, science or inventions, you just need to ensure your underarm hair is removed Grin.
