^ doubt it. Bridesmaids made 288 million on a low budget of 32.
That was five years ago. Aside from Pitch Perfect I cannot think of many all female casts since then and this one has three of the same team that made the former.

I think we are seeing more women-focused film and tv emerging, though. Orphan Black (Tatiana Maslany works hard!), Orange is the New Black, The Good Wife, Fury Road etc.

I personally am so, so utterly bored of Straight White Male protagonist stuff - so much of it is the same old story with different props. I try to make a conscious choice to avoid it where possible. I can't be the only one, so I feel fairly positive about seeing more non-SWM stuff in the future.

I hope it makes enough money to green light another - the ending is set for a sequel & I think the next one will be much better (even though this one was great - I genuinely loved it). This one was very much a 'nod' to the original & establishing the characters/roles but with some genuinely funny comedy too. The 4 main characters were fantastic & I think it would be great to see them develop further. I particularly loved Leslie Jones - I know she's SNL but I hadn't seen her before & I think she's great.

Saw this yesterday with the family

Really enjoyed it

Loved all the little nods and i thought the charactors were excellent, i keep thinking of funny bits to tell people

My only criticism was that Chris Hemsworths charactor was a bit too stupid...but very pretty Grin

Don't think you can criticise this movie re feminism. I've seen it and Chris Hemsworth's character, Kevin, is portrayed as thick and pretty. Not just a bit thick, but too thick to actually function. He gets (and stays) employed because he is gorgeous.

Was dragged along to this and I rather liked it. Great characters and I really like the way the women responded to the villain's Elliot Rogers-style speech. He wasn't a dirty foreigner, but rather a home-grown MRA. Nice change.

Wish we could have a blockbuster type film with feminist super heroes fighting the evil MRAs. Now THAT'S a film I would pay good money to see! 😀👹👻👽
