This was a FB comment from a Carl Frampton supporter.

You've just gone 12 rounds and been named world champion at something you've dedicated years of your life to.

But congratulations on someone else's appearance.

What the fuck does his wife's appearance have to do with Carl Frampton? Why is that something that he is being praised for?

I know it is tiny in the grand scheme of things but this really pissed me off today for some reason. Feel free to ignore. Just felt like i needed to get that out.

You missed the point of the thread, and, despite it being explained to you in little words, you decided that rather than listen to what the OP was saying, that you would attack her. I can understand why political correctness, or as normal people describe it, not being an utter arse, would be difficult for you.

I don't have a Facebook account and I don't bother looking at anyone on Facebook, so subject to that qualification, if that comment was a standalone comment then it was very odd.

If on the other hand it was tacked on at the end of a congratulatory comment as as sort of " and on top of all that you have a beautiful wife" , then I don't see what the fuss is.

I don't mind in the slightest being told I have a good looking son or husband. I don't mind if a similar remark is made to my husband about me.

Most people seem to enjoy getting compliments about their looks or the looks of their partners or children.

The entire comment was

"You have a beautiful wife Carl, we are all very proud of you here"

I assume "here" is belfast or NI.

Every other comment on the post was of the "well done, knew you could do it, making belfast proud, bringing people together, well deserved, congratulations, very happy for you" kind.
