raising girls Steve Biddulph

I'm reading Raising Girls by S Biddulph and find it a good read. However, towards the beginning he discusses two girls lives, one girl goes to a party and is raped, at no point does the author say she is raped, but describes how she is in pain and uncomfortable with her first sexual experience. "Physical discomfort and a sense of being pushed about"
This makes me angry. She was raped and it needs to be pointed out. This is a book about raising girls. Any thoughts? I'm feeling like trying to contact the writer

I've not read the book by the author seams like a but if dickhead when he is interviewed.

I bought Raising Girls, & it's not even by Steve Biddulph, just his foreword and a misleading cover that matches Raising Boys. I thought the whole book was airy fairy crap by Gisele Preuschoff, not Biddulph at all. Funnily enough I found it while tidying yesterday and thought I'd take another look now my DD is 9 (& see if it's still crap). I did begrudge the £8.99 it cost me

I went right off Steve Biddulph when I read in one of his books (can't remember which one) that he recommended making a girl who was too shy to greet a visitor stand 'in the corner'. I can't bring myself to ready anything else by him.

I threw Raising Boys away after two chapters.

Interesting the first time I read raising boys I found it insightful. However 3 years on I found it tedious and slightly embarrassing. The only thing that's changed is now I'm a rad fem

I threw away Raising Boys too. I think it's the only book I've ever chucked instead of taking to the charity shop because it was too hideous.

Mt first sexual experience was like that. Painful and not gentle, but I have never thought of it as rape because I consented.
