It seems to me that Matthews was found guilty of murdering Becky and Hoare was found guilty of manslaughter.

Hoare was not present at the killing by all accounts (the killing was within the woods, whilst Hoare was still back at Becky's family home. She was guilty of covering up the murder, but she said that she was controlled by Matthews, and that part of her evidence is also awful.

And what society says that they were a a couple by all accounts when she was 14/15 when they met and he was 22?

Why should women be associated as a murderer just because they happen to be in a dysfunctional relationship with a man who murders?

"the man is the monster and the woman is an innocent who never would have done that without a man's twisting influence."

But who actually says that? I'm not saying that viewpoint doesn't exist but I've never seen it except when it's been used as an exaggerated representation of what people think other people think.

Surely this shouldn't be about sex points scoring? Women are people to.

AyeAmarok · 14/11/2015 13:02

Even women at their best are not as good as men at their best.

Does this change help you see why this is very wrong?

Theydontknowweknowtheyknow · 14/11/2015 15:58

Ayeamarok, I don't understand what you mean by that. Could you explain?

Elendon · 14/11/2015 17:45

I do wonder if she would be in this position if she had met him.

Would he have done what he did, he was the murderer after all, if he had not met her.

He seemed to have been fixated on Becky.

Oh look, a bunch of feminists being an apologist for a woman that was involved in a murder. Making her out to be a poor little delicate flower just because she's a woman. Thought women were strong? Well then she's strong enough to go to prison.

And things like this, are why I don't take feminism seriously.

And no, I'm not a man.

OneMoreCasualty · 18/11/2015 20:56

Mascara (a) that's not an argument many have made (b) plenty of posters who identify as feminists agree with you and (c) not every poster on this thread identifies as a feminist so bunch of feminists is inaccurate

HTH.

PlaysWellWithOthers · 18/11/2015 22:43

Mascara ... what OneMore said, plus a side order of, your views on many things are fairly repugnant, so I can't take you seriously.

Nice of you to join us. Bye.

MascaraAndConverse89 · 18/11/2015 23:29

Repugnant because my opinions obviously don't match your opinions. Grin

That my friend, is what you call a BIGOT.

OneMoreCasualty · 18/11/2015 23:30

Are you misquoting Rachel Greene?

MascaraAndConverse89 · 18/11/2015 23:33

No

OneMoreCasualty · 18/11/2015 23:35

Ah, then you are less witty than I thought. Hey ho.

Nighty night then.

MascaraAndConverse89 · 18/11/2015 23:39

Oh you going to sleep? Night!

PlaysWellWithOthers · 19/11/2015 08:11

No Mascara, repugnant because they're repugnant by any yardstick.

Not your friend.

Not a bigot.

Able to read threads before crayoning on them, unlike you, it would seem.

Have fun.

MascaraAndConverse89 · 19/11/2015 09:48

Won't be having much fun today as I'm going to a funeral.

HTH
