Is she a good example to girls in regards to being a good feminist? Also are her books any good? She seems to go on about alpha males a lot.

Her books are absolute tripe. She's cleverer than she comes across though. I'm not sure about the example she sets; she often strikes a blow for equality and then seems to ruin it by behaving like a pillock. She's sort of in the background now, I think?

Didn't she cyber-bully that teenage girl who launched Milifandom, and reduce her to tears? Her tweets were bloody nasty, iirc. She comes across as a deeply unpleasant person, and would be pretty low down on my list of role models.

yeah she did do that. she is on twitter ALL THE TIME and she seems happy when bullying someone. right now its a science journalist and she is doing it in the name of sexism (i think)

Well, that might be unfair, but when she gets the bit between her teeth about something, she tends to lose all reason, even when people are giving her facts and being kind about it.

She was a drug addict, sometimes she acts like she's back on the cocaine.

She does read Mumsnet and has been very firm in her own opinion that she is a feminist. Her books are entertaining codswallop, although a number of them have very dark domination fantasies in them.

If I were looking for a list of role models for girls she is definitely not high up on the list.

Jesus! Just reading that thread. What an utterly shitty obit and what an insane response from her! Pretty typical LM though, sadly. If you don't agree immediately with whatever bullshit she's typed, she gets really quite nasty and abusive.

The way she bullied Abby Tomlinson and then tried to justify an adult bullying a child was beyond crappy.

I think I feel a bit sorry for her. Judging by the amount of time she spends on Twitter, I think she must have very little do and be very bored. I only followed her for a few days but had to stop as it was like being spammed. Having said that, you'd think she'd know how the internet works

Actually, I don't feel sorry for her at all.

I cant hate her myself. She was probably out of her depth as a MP- other tories didn't like her very much. Deep down I think she is cartwheeling in space and a bit insecure.
But that voice- not as bad as Peter Hitchens. But its almost as if she practised just as hard as making it a special kind of annoying.

Yes, she's bright (she told us all about her a-levels in that thread, iirc) but unfortunately she uses her powers for evil.

She was definitely out of her depth as an MP. Her constituents were badly let down by her. However, her career now appears to have stalled completely and so she spends her days stalking and bullying on Twitter. It's not a good look.

I fully expect her to be along any minute with a few 1000-word-long posts about how we are all wrong and stupid. She has a google alert set up for her name.

finalbutton - interesting what you say about her voice. It has changed a lot because I knew her many years ago. Used to be posher, it's definitely a bit mocknified now.
