I follow a food account on Instagram. The type that reviews a particular type of food found at most cafes.
Today they posted a picture of a naked woman with her genitals covered in said food. People were scoring out of 10
I posted "Eww!" and got a reply saying "you're no fun"
I replied saying I follow them to read reviews of food and not to see a naked woman being latched and scored and get told that if this is the worst thing that has happened to me today then my life is peachy!
God, it's so depressing, I never get into fights on the internet but this has infuriated me!

It's ridiculous how quickly it escalates too. You've made a perfectly reasonable comment and look what the response is. Just for pointing out a bit of sexism/objectification.

It is ridiculous isn't it? I read of feminist bloggers getting rape threats, and wonder how it goes from someone pointing out inequality to getting extreme threats. I got nothing like that but there were three comments saying that I was over sensitive, that if it was a man I would probably not complain, etc. If i hadn't blocked and deleted, how much further would it have escalated?
