their facebook page

this is their company site

These are running in Cardiff and the South Wales valleys and I am absolutely disgusted.
Anyone who feels offended could you contact them and leave a message on their facebook page?

The Guardian's picked it up: www.theguardian.com/media/2015/may/11/bus-company-pulls-topless-ride-me-adverts-after-outcry

comment on the withdrawal. Charlotte Church among those who opposed.

I'm gobsmacked that anyone thought it was a good idea!

Anyone who suggested a campaign like that in the company I work for would probably have their cards marked for the rest of their career.

They probably thought it was "risque" in a Carry On sort of way...

I guess you lot are also the people who flooded ITV's This Morning when they recently showed a topless (gasp!) woman to demonstrate how to check for breast cancer signs. I mean, children could have seen her nipples and become traumatised!!!

Also in NAT Group's Facebook page many commenters are actually pointing out how much publicity they are being given thanks to the complainers!

Trivia- heard of the Grand Theft Auto games? When the very first GTA game was released the makers paid some guy to intentionally make complaints and cause a massive controversy to get the game in the media and noticed. It worked. GTA got noticed and became what it is now. When there is a product or service to sell, any publicity is good publicity.

pujjapin · 16/05/2015 14:12

*the people who flooded ITV's This Morning with complaints, just to clarify

YonicScrewdriver · 16/05/2015 14:17

Don't be ridiculous, pujja. I see you've been busy on FWR this afternoon. Yawn.

pluCaChange · 16/05/2015 17:43

Why would MNers complain about a breast cancer checking feature? That can save lives and isn't sexual - the opposite of this bus ad. So that"s a straw man argument.

Comparing advertising for a LOCAL BUS SERVICE to "faked outrage to promote international product Grand Theft Auto"... riiiight. Totally comparable. Hmm.

We're really not as dim as you seem to be, if these are the arguments you think will work in this case!

passmethewineplease · 17/05/2015 13:39

My God Puj can you really not tell the difference between a breast cancer check and that advertisement?!

chocolateyay · 17/05/2015 15:34

Puj is 'avin a laugh (I sincerely hope).

YonicScrewdriver · 17/05/2015 15:47

Puj has been banned again.

chocolateyay · 17/05/2015 17:07

There are so few decent trolls/agitators around these days, dontcha think?

PuffinsAreFictitious · 17/05/2015 17:32

Think Puj is a PBP.

Either that or they lack any imagination

Also recently there was a lot of complaints from feminists all over Rita Ora showing "too much cleavage

Which feminists? Name some.

pluCaChange · 17/05/2015 20:53

sammass, I don't think you understand who you are talking to. Why on earth would mumsnetters worry about nipples? Surely, given the breastfeeding, which at least someof us do, we can be expected to be very relaxed about nipples?

You're just making up what a feminist is, in order to get worked up.
