The boys are watching the Indian Premier League Cricket and I noticed 2 commentators that were not male. Surprised at the fact I could hear women commentating on men's sports I looked it up and there are 4 women that are on the 26 person roster. Bit disappointed there isn't a Brit out there adding her voice but is this a positive or is it just tokenism.
Normally we get men patronising our teams and being childish (Nasser Hussain I am looking at you!) but the encouragement to add more commentators to all sports would be nice. Certainly the England Cricket team has some intelligent and very able communicators who I am sure would add value rather than the old boys club that I normal hear.
