So just watching the darts with DP and noticed how they have women wearing little in the way of clothing dancing on stage. Also the players walk on with other women in tight dresses.

Is it really necessary?

it depresses me. Is there another sport where they have them on? I can't think off the top of my head.

Ah that'll be why I haven't really seen it. I don't tend to watch those sports.

It's just so annoying. It is the sport. No need for it.

tsk tsk, it's not 'darts', it's 'arrahs' (arrows)

At least it was in the 80's when I last played much.

But aren't darts players sexy beasts?

AKnickerfulOfMenace · 13/03/2015 12:20

Helpful, partial.

Yes, it's dreadful, OP.

partialderivative · 13/03/2015 12:32

Sorry Knickerful, I thought it was fairly obvious that it was awful. I didn't mean to be flippant.

(Maybe not obvious to the organisers I suppose)

AKnickerfulOfMenace · 13/03/2015 12:48

Darts (formula 1 et al) are mainstream televised sports. I wish it was obvious to all that they are dreadful in using women as attractive props.

BreakingDad77 · 13/03/2015 12:56

MotoGP has its brolly/grid girls too, I though Suzi Perry made a comment on it but google is failing me today.

BreakingDad77 · 13/03/2015 12:56

Thankfully you don't get all that nonsense at the 6N matches.

MummyBtothree · 15/03/2015 15:54

Dunno who I feel more sorry for, the males whom these ahem, 'ladies' are for the benefit of or the girls themselves. Why would you?. The darts players look like they would rather get their hands on a pint of bitter and a bag of pork scratchings.

AKnickerfulOfMenace · 15/03/2015 16:09

I don't think they are there for the players per se; they are there for the audience in the guise of assisting the players...

MummyBtothree · 15/03/2015 16:14

Never watched much so dont really know. What do they do then?

AKnickerfulOfMenace · 15/03/2015 16:20

They walk in front of the player through the audience and kind of show him onto the stage.

MummyBtothree · 15/03/2015 16:42

Dear god, eye candy then basically Grin

AKnickerfulOfMenace · 15/03/2015 16:44

They also have some "dance" on stage and then they walk off together after standing their looking pretty for a minute. Hand in hand obviously, as you do. Hmm

Bet the hairy arsed beer-bellied contestants really appreciate the prancing ladies. Suppose throwing in some choreography makes them look very slightly less pointless

passmethewineplease · 15/03/2015 17:42

Pretty much. It's so grim.

As is this site!

Just reinforcing the idea that women are objects for men to lure at.

The glitz, the glamour and pazzazz that makes every red-blooded male go weak at the knees and dribble

Whilst one could base a dissertation on that sentence I don't really need to say anything.
