I think this is a wonderful group in India started by a 40 year old mother of 5, who witnessed a man beating his wife in public whilst onlookers did nothing, she went back with 5 women the next day and bamboo sticks and beat him.

I don't condone violence but in this case he (and others like him) deserved it. They do alot for the empowerment of women in India, they are aware of the law, but they will literally fight for justice :)

I've read about them before. They're amazing!

Aren't they just :) a powerful force for good in a country with serious damaging misogynist views towards women, if you can't pt the fire out then fight fire with fire at the end of the day - the police don't seem to do anything to stop it as they are probably of the same view and corrupt themselves.

There are a few things in this word that rile me up, having experienced violence at the hands of a man myself if I saw anything on the street such as this I don't think i'd be able to stop myself from intervening either.

Serving a prison sentence for gbh if it saved someone elses life and taught the aggressor a valuable lesson would be something I would be ok with to be honest.
