Im it pissed me off

am i being unreasonable? I just feel like it trivialises rape, trivialises feminism, and is just fucking lazy, dickish arseholery for the sake of it.

Whilst it isn't funny or witty in the slightest, I suppose it does show how people view modern feminism, that they "go on about rape and violence towards women" now I don't agree with this in the slightest and rape and violence towards women is a huge issue that needs to be addressed.

in short it just shows the naive view many have of feminism

That's rank. Delete and block. Sadly the world is full of people who hate women in general and feminists in particular.

There are so many FB memes that are basically a load of crap. I am not surprised to see another one. No doubt I will be told I'm humourless if I object to it - thankfully it hasn't cropped up in my TL yet. I have defriended a few people who posted this sort of thing.

It's meant to piss you off, that's the purpose.

InAnd that's actually very touching! My personal response if someone asks me if I'm a feminist (particularly a man) is "What?? Oh no I hate women!!!"

And that rape meme is contemptible. Maybe you could message the poster and tell him that, statistically, x hundred of his fb friends are likely to be rape victims. I said something similar to an acquaintance who made a rape joke in a crowded train tube carriage - "you know, if about half of the people in this carriage are women, and about 1/5th of those women have been raped, you've just insulted about 20 people within earshot of us right now. You should probably apologise to them." He mumbled something and now looks frightened whenever he sees me. Idiot.
