NAMALT - how do you say it?

A quick poll; if you had to say it out loud, how would you say NAMALT (or how have you heard others say it)?

a) NAM-alt al as in pal, stressed first syllable rhymes with spam
b) NAHM-alt as above but stressed first syllable rhymes with arm
c) NAYM-alt as above but stressed first syllable rhymes with aim
d) NAM-olt last syllable more like malt
e) NAHM-olt
f) NAYM-olt
g) nuh-MALT al as in pal, stress on second syllable
h) nuh-MOLT

i) as initials (en ay em ay el tee)

i would probably say all the words

if forced (not sure how??) to say the acronym i would probably use (a)

I think I'd say it not-all-men-are-like-that, rather than make a word out of NAMALT. If I had to, I'd go with Nahm-olt.

When I see it in text my brain gets stuck half way through and tries to see it as namaste instead. Not that I've ever said namaste in RL either.

I'd pronounce it I'm bored with your self centered pettifogging objections to a perfectly reasonable point to which your pathetic ego objects.

Though sometimes is more Nearly-AMALT than Not-AMALT

Puddock ....the challenge of introducing new trendy buzz words eh ? When pre-judging large groups of others, maybe start with standard tried and test phrases first - such as

"I'm not prejudiced some of my friends are men....but [insert your prejudice of choice]"

Maybe, with luck, somebody might ask if your men friends are like that - then come back to them, rather smartly, with the "No, not all men are like that or NAMALT as we say in advanced sexist circles". Say it like you own it ! Admiring looks of approval or what ?

I really did laugh when I saw what you had written above ! You opposed to smug mockery? - you use it all the time - it must either be a very recent conversion of yours away from it ? - or (much more like it) you can dish it out but you just can't take it.

And any road, I don't seek to preserve an unjust society at all - Society should be just, equal and fair to all - where people are judged as individuals and not as a member of a group.

It is a smug acronym.
It's no better than TERF or SWERF. By all means use the concept to sustain your argument but just throwing out "NAMALT" is just sort of in the know sniggering with those who already agree with you and shoring up the case of, and further alienating, those who don't.

Why use it?

Buffy sorry " you " in my post wasn't referring to you. I meant it as collective users of this term.

Why use it?

Because it needs pointing out so often to those who seem to think everyone thinks and behaves exactly the same way, and it gets boring to type it out in full every time.

Still, do you really think NAMALT is no better than TERF?

Even if NAMALT is used smugly (I disagree, but that's nothing new), it's never used with the viciousness that TERF is.

I hadn't heard "NAMALT" but on Googling it the sites I found where it was being discussed as a valid tool had nothing to do with men's feelings but using it as a put down for women who didn't agree with the consensus.

If Heath Russell is anyone on here I hope we never meet in real life.
